Confused Amp Concerned

Just wondering if anyone has gone through this experience.....af showed a couple of days early in Jan. It wasn't as heavy as usual and didn't last as long. But somehow, it still felt like a normal af cycle to me. Anyway, the last couple days, I've come down with a cold/flu, been sneezing like crazy. It came unexpected and now I'm having these headaches that come and go throughout the day. That's about all I feel right now. Has anyone experienced this and later found out they were actually pregnant? Thanks for your input.

Have you tested yet? Flu-like symptoms are sometimes part of early pregnancy because the body's mucous membranes are changing due to the hormones. The volume of cm could suggest a yeast infection, if you're concerned you could see your doc.

Hi AudreyC. No, I have not tested yet. It's wierd because I wouldn't know which day to go by. So at this point I don't know how many day I am in my cycle. If I o'ed early then that means I am 6dpo(is o day counted as day 1?) However if my last af wasn't really an af, then that means I could have already been pg some time last month, right? I'm so confused here. I guess I should just wait a little longer and test....

If you got pregnant this month, then it would be too early to get any symptoms or a reliable test. If you got pregnant last month, however, you result should be accurate now. Good luck!

I have had what you are having, not the CM though. I just found out that I am pregnant. When do you think you could have gotten pregnant? I didn't have any symptoms that I didn't put to for my AF that was supposed to show up but now 3 days late. I got the headache though.... those aren't fun. good luck

Thanks Lin. Hi Stacey. Well, let's just a__sume that it was af that showed in Jan. Now, others here say it was possible that o'ed early(cd10 or 11) because of the ewcm that was present on both days, that means I am at least 5dpo. I guess that would be way too soon for any kind of symptoms. Now, if Jan.'s af wasn't an actual af, then wouldn't I have more symptoms by now than just off and on headaches, excessive cm, cold/flu, congestion... blah blah blah....sorry ladies, maybe I'm just reading too much into this....what do you think? How many dpo were you Stacey when you felt your symptoms and when you got your BFP?

Lin - February 8

There are lots of women who report not having any symptoms until near the end of the first trimester. That said, I had weird periods for the last two months (1 day rather than 5), and I'm not pregnant. Anyway, like I said, a pregnancy test should come up positive if you're pregnant from last month, so why not take one? The internet cheapies are less than a dollar each. If you really don't want to see a bfn, then just wait until AF doesn't arrive this month to take one.

You're right Lin. Thanks so much. I'll wait for NO af this month and test......thanks.

hi J. when i found out that i was pregnant it ws after taking lots of cold and flu medicine because that what i thought i had. i was tired and pukey, and just felt sick. when i told the doc that i had taken all these meds she flipped out on me then told me i was pregnant. please take a test before self medicating.

Stacey - February 8

Hi j. I was 15 dpo when I got my bfn. My headaches and icky feeling started when I was about 9 dpo I think. But my friend is a few weeks further than me and she has felt sick since day 1. Some women get sick faster and have more symptoms. My AF in Jan was weird as well, but I didn't get pregnant until the 23rd of Jan. That was when I o'ed. Good luck to you. Keep us posted.

Lin - February 8

I think you mean bfp, Stacey!

j. - February 8

Thanks so much for your input ladies. I really appreciate them. I'll definitely take your advise Elisabeth and not take any medication for this cold/flu until I know for sure. The cold seems to have subsided since yesterday, but the sneezing is still here. Maybe all this is just in my head, but now I feel some pain in my lower back. Ugh, I feel so yucky. Any aches Stacey? Thanks ladies.

Stacey - February 8

My bad Lin. Thanks for correcting me. lol. I too ache J. In my lower back and weird twinges or stretching sort of feeling in my lower right belly. I don't remember my first pregnancy much so any little pain I feel I get all freaked out. I don't know what the sneezing is all about, it's probably a coincidence, but I too have been sneezing up a storm for a week now! With a dry hacking cough and a tickle in my throat.

Good morning ladies. How are you all doing? Anything new today? Well I woke up early this morning feeling *pain* in my lower tummy area. It ached pretty badly. It's gone now but it was what I woke up to.

Stacey - February 9

Morning j. I have weird pains that wake me up or make it so I can't sleep too. They scared me at first, but they aren't anything. As long as there is no spotting and such, it's ok. I still have the cold and the sneezes are kicking my b___t!
