Cramping After Sex

Hi all - I'm not sure if I'm pregnant yet...but I've been think that I could be for about a week now. I'm almost two weeks late as of now, and have been feeling exactly like i should be on af for at least a week. cramps off and on and everything. very strange for me. Anyway - I had s_x for the first time since all this has started up, and i had some pretty intense cramps that lasted for about 5 minutes once we had finished. They were like really intense period cramps. I thought for sure that if i was going to start my period - that after THAT it would start for sure. No sign still. Has anyone had this happen to them while pregnant? Could it be caused by pregnancy , or does it pretty much mean af is coming?

Hi Kairfree, I had that happen to me with my first pregnancy, I think it started around 8 or 9 weeks. After s_x I would get the most intense painful cramping that I would be curled in a ball on the bed and my husband would have to rub my back. Eventually it got less as the pregnancy progressed, I put it down to the fact that the uterus was getting stretched by the growing pregnancy and having s_x caused muscle contractions that set it off. That being said, It does happen to me around period time although to a much lesser degree. All the best!

What about just cramps in general? Can you be pregnant and still be feeling menstrual like cramps every day around the time of your missed period? or do cramps indicate that i'm not pregnant....just that af is taking her time this month? Thanks!

Menstrual like cramps are commonly a__sociated with early pregnancy. Before I realised I was pregnant the first time I had started taking period pain tablets for 3 days thinking my period was starting due to the amount of cramping I had, but obviously af never came. A lot of women have reported this type of cramping in early pregnancy due to the changes taking place in the uterus, stretching and growing to accomodate the baby. For me the cramping continued til about 12 weeks. Bottom line, yes you can have cramps during early pregnancy, or yes it could also be just that af is taking her time. Both are very possible. The only way to tell is take a pregnancy test. If it's negative, it could be just a messed up cycle, but you could test again in a week, or see your doctor for a blood test and check up. All the best!

Hi, I definitely have had this happen, in fact, I just posted a new threat in this forum about it. I've read online that it can definitely happen, but is more common during/after orgasm (which didn't happen in my recent situation because s_x had to be cut short due to pain). Not to get too personal, but did an orgasm bring on these cramps for you? I'm just wondering because since I didn't have an "O" are my pains just period pains, and not implantation. You know?
