Denial

Tammy - January 31

Hello ladies. My situation is I can't remember getting my period in Dec, so I waited all through Jan and now Jan 31st and I still haven't gotten it. The biggest change in my body is these unbelivable hunger pains early in the morning. I used to wait to eat breakfast until late morning now I get unbelievable hungry around 8 and if I don't eat I feel sick. I also have gained 4 lbs in the last month. All these signs and I am still in denial, I think the weight gain is because the extra eating early and since I have gained weight maybe that is the reason I missed my period. So do you guys think I am in total denial and should get a home pregnancy test or what?

Do you have long cycles...this could cause you to not have a period in Jan. and then maybe you will have one at the begining of Feb. If your cycles are pretty reliable and around 28 days or so, then it wouldn't hurt to take a pregnancy test. You might just be stressed out and this is causing the absence of your period. Also, believing that you are pregnant, even if you are not, can lead to a delayed period. If you don't have a period in Feb. I would call the doc. b/c that is three months wihtout a period and it could be b/c of PCOS or some thyroid condition. Just try to relax.
