Determining My Cycle

THIS IS MY FIRST MONTH OFF THE PILL. MY LAST PERIOD STARTED 4/18. I BOUGHT AN OVULATION TEST AND HIT A SURGE ON 4/27. MY HUSBAND AND I HAD SEX ONCE DAILY BETWEEN 4/26 AND 5/2. ACCORDING TO A 28 DAY CYCLE I WOULD BE DUE FOR MY PERIOD ON 5/16. HOWEVER, WILL MY CYCLE BE SHORTER BECAUSE I OVULATED SO EARLY? WILL I BE DUE FOR MY PERIOD EARLIER? (FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS MY BBS HAVE HURT. I ALSO GET A SLIGHT NAUSEAUS FEELING WHICH RESEMBLES HEARTBURN AT TIMES WITH LOTS OF BURPING....I NEVER GET HEARTBURN EXCEPT WHEN I WAS PREGNANT WITH MY DAUGHTER BUT THAT DIDN'T START UNTIL 2ND OR 3RD TRIMESTER) AM I GRASPING AT STRAWS HERE LADIES?

You could be pregnant, you could not. Some women get pregnant the first month off the pill, and some take a year. It all depends on the person. It's really hard to say whether or not symtpoms are due to pregnancy in the first few months off the pill, because you'll likely have lots of symptoms you've never had before just because of the hormone changes. Good luck!

I believe that surge on 4/27 indicated that the following day was your ovulation day. So you did baby dance in a prime time. As for a shorter cycle, the cycle ends 14 days right after the day of ovulation. Since that may have been 4/28, it could be as early as 5/12...since that's 14 days after ovulation. As for those odd symptoms, it could be PG symptoms (remember every pregnancy and every pregnant woman varies). I mean you were baby dancing around a prime time. Yes, it can take time to get pregnant after getting off the pill, but I think since you were using an ovulation test, that could help increase your chances..since those tests are on point with what they're suppose to be detecting. I say test on this upcoming Sat. If it comes out negative, but no arrival of your period, then wait another week and test again. I think you hit the spot though. I wish you luck. :D
