What exactly is the difference between Implantation Bleeding and a Period?

Do you mean what the consistancies are and how heavy ?

Well, besides the obviously different causes, implantation bleeding is only spotting and isn't particularly common, while a period is a substantial flow and happens every month.

I'd like to know the same thing; and when exactly does it usually happen (IB). I had my last period April 6th and then on April 18th I had alittle light spotting but then yesterday I had light spotting AGAIN! What the heck is going on?? I know the 18th was prolly ovulation spotting but what about yesterday...I'm confused and pray someone can give us some ideas as to what it "might" be.

Ok first thing....IB is not very common and it usually happens anywhere between 6 dpo to 12 dpo. The average woman Implants on day 9.

Tink it could have been ovulation spotting....not IB its way to early for that.

Yes Emma....And how long would IB stick around as compared to a period?

cloverspot - April 25

I ask because I am a week and 4 days late, but I think I may be experiencing IB?

Emma2 - April 25

IB is spotting only and there really isnt a time frame or lenght for it unlike your period which can range for 2-7 days. Some women can spot for days but its not something thats common to begin with .

Okay...thanks so much Emma!

No prob...but IB usually happens before your expected period not when your almost 2 weeks late. have you tested?
