Do Cysts Make It Harder To Conceive

This may be a stupid question, but I was just reading the question on ovulation bleeding and reading the answers I thought I might have cysts too. I don't want to jump the gun, but since we are ttc I wonder if a cyst would impede becoming pregnant. Anyone know?

Yes! They could be inhibiting your ovulation, blocking an egg, etc. You really need to get a sonogram done with the d____o machine to see if you have one...but don't worry. Nearly every woman will or has cysts (and we don't even know it) because they naturally form through hormones each month on our ovaries and go away during the luteal phase (sometimes not). The best thing is to get it check out if you suspect you have one. I hope you don't!

Thanks for your clear answer! I have this ovulation bleeding as well. The last time I was off the pill I would start to have spotting and a bit of bleeding on and off untill my "real" AF started. At the time I thought it was because of the IUD I had, but I'm off the pil again now, no IUD and I have this bleeding again!

Hi! I had cysts and I had to have then drained in 2002-but I have never had any trouble concieving. The doc told me that I may have trouble-but I am on my third pregnancy-the first took 1 cycle and I was pregnant-the second 1 cycle and I mc'd later. But this one took 2 cycles and I am due June first. See if your doc can do an us to see how bad they are.
