Early Implementation Bleeding But Neg Blood Test

we have been ttc for 7 months. this month five days after pos opk i had some slight bleeding and then brown discharge. never had this before mid cycle like this so i went to the doctor and had a blood test 7 days after pos opk. test came back negative. but could this test have been done too early? i am having all the signs - sore br___ts, headaches, tired, etc. has anyone else had a neg blood test early that ended up being pos and pregnant?
