Early Ovulation And Pregnancy Symptoms

Hi All! Well, I am new to this board and seem to have an overwhelming number of questions! But in particular, I will stick to my most pressing questions at this time. First, I am currently on CD 18 with a typical 28 day cycle. I had s_x on CD 5 and CD 10. I am also on birth control, but am having some odd sensations. First off, I am experiencing minor cramping in my lower abdomen, which I also experienced with my first pregnancy. Also, I am craving many salty foods, including pickles, and less chocolate (I am a chocolate fanatic!) which I also experienced with my first pregnancy. I am also having thick CM that is brownish yellow and also has blood in it. This seems similar to my first pregnancy as well. Could I have potentially gotten pregnant on CD 10? Could a pregnancy test tell now? I need some help and will welcom ANY suggestions! Thanks!

While it is not unheard of, it isn't common to ovulate while on birth control. Lets a__sume your birth control failed and you did pop out an egg, with a controlled 28 day cycle (as they usually tend to be on birth control) it is unlikely that you ovulated on CD10 (not impossible however) but more likely toward CD14. Considering however that you are experiencing MANY of the same symptoms you experienced with your first pregnancy it is possible you could be pregnant. Or your body could just be wacked out from ovulating while on synthetic birth control hormones. If you did indeed ovulate on cd10 you would only be 8dpo and so it is unlikely you would get an accurate hpt result. I would wait a minimum of 2 days to test. (I got both my BFPs in both my pregnancies at 10dpo) The closer you test to when your period is due the more accurate the test will be. GL to you!
