I was just wondering if you had an slight history of a somewhat eating disorder would or could that cause you not to get pg later on down the line?

Louise - i had an eating disorder for quite a number of years so am obviously concerned too. my dr said that as long as my eating is healthy now and my periods have been normal for awhile then there really shouldn't be a problem. it might be worth chatting with your dr and running some blood tests to see what your nutritional and hormonal status is. good luck.

my aunt had an eating disorder and has 4 daughter although she did m/c late in term b/c of disorder. i would think if you are healthy now and regular you should be fine. but i also agree with rach- talk to your doc about it.

Thank You ladies~I had the disorder for about a year. I was taking Diet pills, and Laxatives if I ate over either 800 cals a day...I went from 211lbs down to 140 within 10 months and then evryone got on my case to stop because they knew I wanted to get pg in the future. So now I have back to a fatty wanting to go back to the disorder because now people are telling me to lose it to help to get pg. I have tried since march of 04 and no babies just fat. I go from one extreme to another and neither one is working...ARGH!!!!

You should talk to a nutritionist/ and or get a personal trainer. I know it is expensive. I'm sorry, if you already do these things, but I just wanted give you a little hope- there are other ways to manage a weight problem that won't interfere with baby making- and that last longer than the approach you've described. I hope you can get healthy and stay healthy and have a great life with your baby!!
