Eptopic Pregnancy

My wife has missed period and is usually regular as clockwork, so we did a pregnancy test which was negative. She still hasn't started and were wondering if she is pregnant and it is in her tubes, (eptopic pregnancy). If this is so could a pregnancy test reveal a negative result?

No, an ectopic pregnancy would not produce a negative result. The symptom of an ectopic pregnancy is severe stabbing pains in one side of your stomach. but as for your wife being pregnant, she could be. It may have been slightly too early to test, if she's usually regular as clockwork and hasn't been stressing over concieving then she probably is pregnant. Get a blood test to find out for sure.

In addition to having her get a test done, you might want to know that the pregnancy hormone, HCG, develops when the placenta is developing when it attaches to the uterus. I'm not for sure, but i don't think you can develop a placenta unless the egg is in the uterus, not the tubes.
