I know its been asked before, but can you explain ovuation, mainly the discharge and when it happens in relation to the egg being released. When is it creamy and when is it like egg whites. Can I tell by cervical mucous what stage i'm at in ovulation?

The slippery stretchy raw egg-white mucus occurs in the days leading up to ovulation. Sperm can live in it up to 5 days (though you may have it only for a few days). Ovulation is a momentary event when the egg breaks loose from the follicle, 14 days before the next menses. The egg is only viable for 24 hours after ovulation. Correlate your observation of mucus with BBT readings. The cervical position and feel (Soft, High, Open, Wet) is also an indicator.
