AndreaD - February 24

Started my FF Chart last night. If I put in that I have a 28 day cycle (I am very regular) and I am on day 27, why would it put my ov day at day 16 instead of 14?????? Thanks :)

AndreaD, FF bases your ovulation on 3 raised temperatures and other signs of fertility (e.g. fertile cervical mucus and position). FF will give you crosshairs once 3 elevated temperatures are detected. FF will not predict O before it happens, rather it serves as confirmation that it has happened. O is counted as the day before those 3 temperature elevations were noted. So you O then temp goes up and hopefully stays up. Also your luteal phase (time after O to time you have a period again) range in every woman. For most it is between 10-16 days. You need at least 10 days in your LP for implantation to occur and for you to become pregnant. So if you O'ed on cd 16 and are on cd 27 you are at 11 dpo in your luteal phase. It is quite normal to go to day 12 and further. Also, you may have O'ed late and then that caused your LP to be calculated a bit further out. Your LP usually remains the same at all times, but if stress, medication, etc caused you to O late you will likely start of AF later than expected. Hmm, hope that wasn't too confusion. Post again if you are confused I am sure I or someone else will be able to answer your questions. Good luck!
