Frustrated With Dh

I need to vent a little bit. Me and my dh are ttc #2. I am actively trying. I thought he was really wanting it and all for it, but he never talks to me about it or anything like that. He won't even let me buy an opk or anything! We have the money...he asked me what the rush was and he said that it'll eventually happen, so why rush?? That just frustrates me b/c i don't like just having s_x, not even knowing if i ovulated, and hoping i'm pregnant. And even after that...he doesn't like me to get pregnancy tests...he says that i'll know eventually. I don't think he understands a woman's point of view. I can't just not know if i'm pregnant! I hope someone here understands my frustration. I just want him to be all for it with me.

Your dh sounds like the typical male lol... they just don't understand our point of view at all! You know what is really rediculous, I've been obsessed with watching all the births on discovery health channel lately and dh was home for a lil while and saw me watching a woman give birth and when the baby came out he said ewwwwwwww. Can you believe that? I guess men only appreciate the experience when it is their own child. But I know what you mean my dh doesn't want me to buy any tests until i'm a week late!!! I just went behind his back and bought a kit of preseed lube, opk's and hpts online haha he has seen the package but hasn't questioned it at all.

oh ps... about the opks my dh would rather just have s_x twice a day everyday.... he is taking advantage of me trying to get pregnant lol

Shes right..thats the typcal male, I think. My dh doesnt want me to stress, thats why he doesnt talk about or anything. He knows how badly I want a baby...and he has that att_tude that it will just happen on its own..but i want it NOW!!! LOL!!! I think we can all relate a lil to that! Every day when I see a lil baby ir a lil kid, it just makes me want it that much more badly. I apologize if my writting looks all sloppy..something weird is going on with this site for some reaon on my pc and i cant tell if there is a space between words or not! LOL!

see...my dh would notice if i went behind his back and bought it...he checks our bank account and asks me about any charge he doesn't recongnize. Then i get a lecture if it's something i shouldn't have gotten . He p__ses me off!!

i wish my dh would have s_x twice a day every day! he works 12 hours a day 5 days a week...so he's pretty tired when he gets home. It sucks!

I can understand your frustration. Until we "officially" started trying, my hubbie (not real sure what dh stands for) would not join in on any convo about getting pregnant. He still won't discuss baby names...not until we get pregnant. Well I couldn't just let myself forget all the good names, so I started a list. I started a whole resource page a long time ago so I could remember stuff I just happened to come across. Thankfully my hubbie is all about trying and working with me on this. He is the one that brought to my attention that there were preggo test at Dollar Tree this past weekend! But he also doesn't want me to over stress about it and says it will happen when it happens. He too is taking advantage of us trying to get pregnant...loving all the bding!

by the way...dh stands for dear husband :) i just get so frustrated when he won't let me even get an opk! i just want to get a better idea of when we get pregnant...and he just wants to have s_x and enjoy it and wait till i get preg.

i understand the enjoying s_x part and not making it a chore, but i just want to be able to get opk's and hpt's without getting lectured! He just doesn't understand what it's like to be in our shoes...and they never will.

sammykjo - June 29

Ah ha...thank you for defining dh! Exactly...they will never understand! It is nice to enjoy it, and we have...I've tried to keep it from feeling like punching the clock. But at the same time, there is a specific reason behind s_x at this time. When I really want something, I put all my time and effort into it...this isnt' any different. In fact I feel like this is going to be the most important thing I do in my life!! Fortunately my dh knows how controlling I am and understands that I have to feel like I have as much control over this pregnancy as possible...so he doesn't b___h too much. But granted, this is our first month ttc.

this will be your first baby?

sammykjo - June 29

My first baby, my dh second. He has a 9 year old son. He doesnt' live with us, and since we moved even farther away from where he live, we only get to see him a short while in the summer. Dh wasn't married to her, nor with her when she was preggo or after she had him. Therefore, a lot of this is going to be new to him as well, but at least he is used to being a father.

let me tell you from experience...being pregnant is the most wonderful thing in the world! I know that a lot of people don't see it that way...i know it's uncomfortable and frustrating sometimes. But i would be pregnant all the time if i could. congrats!!! Are you hoping for a boy or a girl? Or do you not care as long as the baby's healthy?

sammykjo - June 29

My bad if I lead you to believe that I was already preggo...not yet. I'm 3dpo today, but this is the first month we have tried. I'm trying to stay positive that we suceed the first time, but we will just keep trying if we didn't. But I'm totally excited about being preggo! And neither of us care if it is a boy or girl, just so long as it is healthy!

sammykjo - June 29

My dh wants a big family...like 4-5...so I will be preggo all the time!! :)

kvilendrer - June 29

that was my mistake! you didn't hint that you were pregnant. I don't know why i had that in my mind...hehe...sorry
