Grandpa Viv I Have A Question O

Hello, this may seem like a silly question but I've seen people asking about whether they might be pregnant and they've had light periods. I didn't think you would have periods while pregnant cos isn't a period when the lining of your uterus comes away? I thought while you were pregnant you'd need the lining to be thick so it couldn't come away as it wouldn't be able to support the pregnancy? I'm probably being really stupid but I just don't understand! Also can someone be pregnant with "normal" periods too? Thanks Viv x

I think people just refer to bleeding as periods. If you are pregant then of course they´re not proper periods. they could be fluids mixed with blood, or implantation. People just call them periods.

some women have their normal period all through pg anyway. rare, but it can happen

When I was pregnant with my second child, I had episodes of bleeding, not heavy but light for 2 or 3 days. I wouldn't describe it as a period though just light spotting.
