Hey girl - I haven't seen you for a while on here and was just wondering how things were going for you and your little bean! How have you been feeling? How many weeks are you? I'm 4 weeks pregnant today. I've been feeling pretty good. I think that it's starting to sink in a bit more. My dh finally is convinced, confident and super excited. He made me take one more test yesterday (the don't do blood work here until 10 weeks) using a digital test and of course it was a bfp! Now....he's so excited....making sure it eat this and that, rest...it's so nice! Hope to hear how things are with you soon!

Hey - You have been away. Good to have you back. I’m glad you have been feeling good. It's cute how your husband is watching over you. My husband has been doing the same. I am at 4 weeks and 2 days. I have been having a few pinching/cramps mostly on my right side. I have to go back to my fertility doctor tomorrow for them to check my hcg levels again. My first prenatal appt. is Friday, Feb 16th. I am still in disbelief. I have to remind myself that I am pregnant. Why do they wait until 10 weeks to do blood work? Have you told many people? Keep me posted.

Hi Hapi! I was away, I was gone on a hockey road trip and then I was exhausted and had to spend some time just to rest. Glad to hear that your dh is like mine....maybe it's the newness of it all, but I have a feeling he'll be like this all 9 months....which is ok with me...as of now! I don't know why they wait until 10 weeks. They said that they are confident in hpt and since I've never been pregnant before or had any other medical conditions, they wait until 10 weeks and do it all at once. The bloodwork, exam and doppler. They don't do the first u/s until 20 weeks ( unless something comes up at 10 weeks that might be wrong) and they won't tell you the s_x of the baby at the hospital that I go to!! I don't want to know anyway...but just a lot different then in the US. I actually grew up in Maine and just moved to Nova Scotia with my husband in August. He's Nova Scotian! We have only to our bestfriends from South Carolina. They are so close to us, super supportive and have 2 kiddies of their own...one is just a month old. It's nice to have the support network. We want to wait to tell everyone else until after the first appt. Play on the safe side for now. How about you?? Are you telling???

hey frozen..sorry to jump in. But why won't they tell you the s_x of the baby? That's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard lol. I think i would freak if they said no.

haha, they had a couple errors and got sued a few times...and ever since then...they won't. It's not all across the province, just at this particular prenatal clinic, which is the only one around!

Oh, it’s so nice to have such a great support system. Everyone needs to have that all through their pregnancy. And it’s nice that your friends have children, so they have first hand experience. My husband and I decided to tell only very close family. My mom pa__sed away over a year ago and she really wanted to be there for me when I had a baby. So her unexpected death has changed my mind about waiting. You never know what life will bring and I wanted our loved ones to know as soon as possible. Are your parents still in Maine?

hapi - So sorry about your mother, I know how had it can be. My mother pa__sed away 3 years ago of cancer. It all happend very quickly as well too. She pa__sed about 2 months after I graduated from college and I was only 23. I like your thinking about never knowing what may happen. My dad is living in Maine, he got remarried about 2 years ago to a nice woman (I can say that now, never used to be able to before I got married) and actually most of my family is there. I would love to tell them face to face...but I won't be back in Maine until the summer. I think we will wait until the first appt....I'll be about 8-9 weeks then...just want to see a doctor first. It is great to have this forum too....I can get it all out and talk about it without feeling that I have a secret all the time!

Aww, I am sorry about you losing your mom! It is one of the hardest things in the world to get through. It will be so nice when you are able to share with your family, face-to-face, your good news. ***My dad started dating a woman a few months after my mom pa__sed. They are still together. He just could not be alone. I still have not met her. It has been very difficult for me getting through my mom’s pa__sing. She and I were very close. It sounds like you too had a few things to work through in regards to your mom pa__sing and your father moving on? You are right about this forum. It is nice to share what you’re going through.

there were a lot of issues to be sorted as well. My dad did the same thing. He started dating about 3 months later as well and they are married now. He couldn't be alone either. Married 25 years, it would be hard. She lost her husband to cancer as well, they connected on a level that was deep and understanding....I can see that now but couldn't before. Now that I can, I'm at peace with it all!

That is great that you were able to make peace with it all. I like to think that our mom's are by our sides all the time. I talk to my mom before I fall to sleep at night. It brings me comfort.

Frozenfeet - How are you feeling today? I went to the doctors to test my HCG levels again today. They will call me later with the results. I asked one of the nurses if slight cramping is normal. She said, "Yes". I also asked if my levels were too high. She said they are not worried that they are a little high. If they were really high then they would be. Whew, I feel better!

congrats hapi on the good report from the doc! I feel great today...feeling a bit pudgey already....I feel like I've gained 10 lbs already! I've got my first appt on the 26th of Feb....I can't wait!!!
