scheduled my HCG. Can anyone tell me about the test? How long does it take? How painful is it?

Judy, I'm very sorry that I cannot answer your question as I've never gone for a HCG test, but I think it may just a blood test that detects this level to make sure that a pregnancy is progressing as it should. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck to you!!

Hi Judy, a "qualitative one" will only tell you if you are or not pregnant. A "quant_tative blood test" will tell you how much hcg you have in your blood. <5 miu/ml = negative/not pregnant, 5-25 need a second test to confirm pregnancy. You just go and they take some blood and they give you the results on the next day. I got mine today.

Judy, do you mean an hsg, where they shoot dye into your uterus and fallopian tubes to check for blockage??? HCG is the hormone your body makes when you are pregnant...

HCG also stands for the shot that they give you during ovulation to insure your eggs release as they should. The reason I remember this is that I've had several of them and they don't feel too good! It's also our son's initials. HA! We had to have an IUI done when we got pg in 2000. We are now ttc again and trying to do it own our own this time. I'm having lots of symptoms so we are so hoping we have done it, being we've been ttc for over 2yrs. We'll know in a few days. Lots of Baby Dust to you all and Best of Luck Judy!!
