HCG Why Are We All Different

I am just wondering... they say that once implantation has taken place ( 8-10 dpo), your hcg levels should double every few days. By the time your period is due, it's 14 dpo. How come some women can get a positive result before others? If it does the same thing in everyone, why can some women get a positive result before af, and others have to wait sometimes 2 weeks after af? First response says it detect a pregnancy 4 days b4 af. I know it is because they are a sensitive test, but shouldn't all women's pregnancies start off the same? I just need clarification. Please help... Thanks!

I'm no doctor but from my understanding there can be a few variations. 1. Cycles can vary from woman to woman. I have a cycle of 28 days and my sister varies anywere from 26-35 depending on the month. 2. implatation days are an estimate. That too has a tendancies to vary. 3. Womans int_tial HCG rates may vary. The main thing a Dr. looks for with HCG is that it doubles every 48 hours but were it starts at depends on the person and were they are in the pregnancy. Again, I could be wrong but that is the way I understood it.

That sounds like a good answer Crystle. I was just wondering because some people can bepregnant for the same amount of time, yet get results at different time. Thanks.

http://www.obfocus.com/questions/qanda7.htm (take out any hyphens) shows how variable hCG can be from one pregnancy to another. At 21 dpo it can vary from 19 to 7,340
