Ok, I've posted several times on this website and have encountered a couple ladies in a similar situation as I and I need some more advice! I am a plus-sized woman & I've not had my period since DECEMBER (today is the 66th day since my last period)! I've had 4 negative HPT's & 1 negative blood test but I've been having some PG symptoms: bloating, abdomen pressure, frequent urination, acne, sore br___ts/fuller br___ts, back aches, shoulder pain, excessive bowel movements (sorry!), fatigue, and as of last night, nausea/dry heaves. I attempted to sleep on my belly as I've done since I was a little girl and I couldn't because the pressure on my stomach made me sick to my stomach! I don't know if I'm PG or not but I've already called the Dr. this morning to see if I can come in for an ultrasound. I've even been put on medication to force me to menstruate & nothing has happened so far. 3 days ago, I experienced some scanty light pink discharge after using the restroom but haven't had anything since, especially nothing making it to a pad or anything. I am completely confused at what is going on with me. I've read about cysts, etc but I don't know if I really have that??

Well, i was diagnosed with having cysts in my ovaries . The doc. explained how cysts in ovaries make you have all these symptoms. I used to be like you until i found this out. Everymonth i though i was pg. They did nothing about my cycsts but put me on birth control cause my periods were out of wack too. Then, nothing. Took me off birth control and doc didnt even want to check me again. She even told me i wast ov. cause of the cysts. I started temoing and i do ov. I have an appt. to see another gyno. at the end of March. Hopefully shell help me out more. Been ttc for over a year now and nothing is happenenig. Good luck to you.

I also have a fluid-filled sac that appeared on the top of my clavicle/right side of my neck this morning. I haven't had that before -- not sure if that's related to everything else I'm experiencing or not...

Hey KD! I was in the same boat as you..my last af was in Dec and no af since then. Last week I had a day of brown watery discharge and two later light pink-both only lasted about two hrs. I went to the Dr this past Tuesday and she checked me out and said everything looked normal. All my hormonal tests were normal and we agreed to go ahead and do an ultrasound to make sure there are no cysts on my ovaries, but she didnt think there were. ok, so my point is this...Dr told me that what is going on with my body is basically due to my weight (im plus size also). She said that fat cells act as birth control..and if you have quite a bit of them, then they will make you irregular. The Dr told me that it looks like I am ovulating, but that Its only happening 3 or 4 times a year..which makes since bc I have 70'ish day cycles (im on cd 93 today). So, her advice to me was to work on losing some weight and that itself should regulate me out. I go for the ultrasound this coming thursday. Good luck!

Just an update -- I'm having a pelvic ultrasound perfomed at 1:00p today to find out why my body is going haywire! I'll keep you posted on what I find out...

LN0, is right. I too am a plus sized woman (100+ lbs overweight) I don't have problems with my cycle but I do know that for most women with weight & fertility problems it is because of the weight. Fat cells produce estrogen which as LN0 said is a form of birth control. If you have too much estrogen in your body, your body won't produce LH (to ovulate) or progesterone (to build the lining of your uterus and sustain a pregnancy) In many cases losing 10% of your body weight can regulate you. I have also been told that using progesterone cream can help as well. It is best however to rule out cysts and other fetility related issues before obsessing about being overweight. Also, wanted to know what you meant by a fluid filled sac?? odd??? is it big, small? what does it look like? Let us know how your appt goes!!

Ok, I had 2 ultrasounds done (pelvic & transv____al) both of which detected NOTHING -- no cysts, no fibroids, no endometriosis, no ectopic pregnancy, no pregnancy, etc. The diagnostician did tell me she could tell my uterus has never beared children (true), that its small, sits to the left (she said is ok), and that my endometrium lining is really thick because of me going 70 days without having a period. Has anyone else had this happen to them?? What happens next?? Its going to take 2 days for these results to get to my OBGYN to see where I go from there. HELP!!

They'll probably put you on something to induce your period... good to hear about no cysts etc. Did you ask about your follicles and if she could tell if you ovulated recently???

krissy2006 - March 2

Well I'm glad to hear its gone. That kinda had me worried... didn't sound good at all.. in any case I wouldn't worry too much now (about pregnancy) but I am very interested in finding out if she said anything about you ovulating? BTW if you don't mind me asking how plus size r u? (is that rude to ask? considering I am also???? sorry if it is)

I think I am 40+ give or take 10lbs overweight. I am the biggest I've ever been in my life but I've been this way for the past 2 years and this is the 1st time I've had such a strange & non-existent menstrual cycle!

kdlovesrd - March 2

The OBGYN said my ovaries & their blood flow looked completely normal so she said I am ovulating. BUT the ovaries showed no cysts/sacs or anything as well as nothing showing a pending menstrual cycle (is that possible through a transv____al ultrasound?). Today was my 1st time having this done so I still feel a little weird -- plus, none of my pelvic pain has subsided or my frequent trips to the restroom (not to mention that I also had to drink 32 oz of water before going in for the ultrasound!).

hmmm.... doesn't seem to me (although I could be wrong) a sufficient amount of excess weight to cause anything serious regarding fertility. Have they checked your thyroid??

I've now officially scared myself by looking up "thick endometrium lining" on the internet and finding websites showing endometrial cancer.....aahhh....*tears*....I've had skin cancer of the cervix (obgyn said from the naked tanning bed sessions in my college years!) which the cells went away on their own. Now I'm wondering if they've come back but now in my endometrium lining or if I've gone way off the deep end reading into things I don't have....

kdlovesrd - March 2

Yeah, I had a thyroid (basic) test, a diabetes test, high cholesterol & high blood pressure test and those results were all "normal" and "of no concern" by the Doctor back on February 12th. I don't know what to do!!

krissy2006 - March 2

JEEZ!!! 32 OZ... LOL... I don't know what is truly "normal" and what is accepted as normal because anything and everything is possible. You really have me at a loss for words. (which for me is something, LOL) I 'spose your doc will have more to say and if not and he doesn't satisfy your concern with answers I'd suggest a new obgyn.. :)

DON'T TAKE ANYTHING YOU READ OFF THE INTERNET WITH ANYTHING MORE THAN A GRAIN OF SALT!!! Your doctor will be able to help you (hopefully) with all your questions and by investigating you ARE JUST GONNA SCARE YOURSELF! Here's a little story on behalf of my experience. Just recently I found a piece of skin at the entrance to my v____a (sorry tmi) It was on the side hanging out and had a hole in it like if you took a piece of lunch meat and shoved your finger through. Well I looked it up and worried and cried and thought my insides were falling out or what have you. I worried I had cancer that my body was eating itself and all from the d__n internet putting ideas in my head. Do you know what it turned out to be??? My hymen. I have a septate hymen (a hymen with a piece of skin in the middle and two holes on either side) and even after 6 years of being "with" my husband who at the time was my BF it never broke until recently. Nothing to worry about and I wasn't dying, nor was my body eating itself from the inside out, so pay no attention to what the internet says!!!!!

thanks Krissy! I am not reading anything else except what is on this website! haha :) I am just worried because my abdomen is in so much pain (anvil on my stomach literally) and I feel completely nauseated. I almost lost my lunch when I had to drink 32oz of water for the ultrasound because the pressure of my full bladder on my pelvic region AND the sonogram thing made me sooooooo nauseated. The diagnostician kept apologizing b/c I would clench my jaws & close my eyes whenever she moved the wand around. What on earth could this be?!?!?!?!?!
