High Temps Three Days Into Period

Hi ladies! Here I am puzzled again. AF showed three days ago and for the first time in my four months of charting, my temps haven't dropped, and yesterday, they got even higher. AF is is in full force, no light bleeding to be mistaken for IB now, but the continued high temps are making me wonder if I'm missing something. I took a digital HPT this morning: negative. Anyone out there have a simular experience or explanation for this? Thanks!

Oops, I meant to say: For the first time in my four months of charting my temps have stayed up *after* AF. : )

Hi babydreams. Its normal....sometimes my temp doesnt go down to normal for 4-5 days after I start AF, and then sometimes it drops right away.

Thanks, Jeanette! Good to hear that. I just want to get on with this cycle and try for my BFP this month. I was worried because I read somewhere, in TCOYF I think, that high temps after AF could be a sign of early menopausal problems. Yikes -- I'm turning 28 this month. I really hope that's not the case! : )

LOL! It would be more the case for me than you I'm afraid, since I am 38.

You're worried about early menopause at 28?! Damn, you're making me feel old at 33. Anyway, I'd be more concerned about thyroid problems than menopause. I've read that higher than normal follicular phase temps can indicate hyperthyroidism. But I doubt you need to worry about either. Like Jeanette, my temp normally takes awhile to drop after AF. I'd imagine it's quite common. Good luck this month!

: ) Sorry to be such a worrier here! And Lin and Jeanette, I appreciate your help. I guess this TTC thing is getting to me. I know, it's completely irational to think that I could be going through early M, but of course, if it's possible to worry about it, I'll worry about it! Story of my life these days. DH, a former smoker (six years ago now) and now chews nicorette gum when he gets cravings (usually daily). I just read that this can impact sperm motility, so he agreed to go off of it. From that to my worries this evening, it's been a pretty nutty week! Thanks for hanging in there with me ladies!

Hey babydreams, I put my dh on a vitamin regimen for sperm quality and motility cause he smokes, AND drinks coffee everyday.....I can't pressure him to quit, but, i CAN do something to combat it. Let me know if you'd like the list....

Hi babydreams! My temps have been high before, during and after my AF this month. I have been temping for the last 4 mths and this is the first time it stayed up. My AF was also heavy for the first time in a year!!! I don't think I am preg, but it is very weird that my temps stayed up, as the last previous 4mths it usually went down the day of AF or the day before AF. AF is now gone and I am hoping for a BFP this month, it will be our 9th month TTC! Baby dust!!

Jeanette, I'd love to hear what vitamins/supplements you have your DH on. Maybe I can talk mine into taking them! : ) Parul, thanks for your feedback, too. Strange thing for me too: This AF is the heaviest I've ever recalled. I can't seem to go an hour or two without worrying about a tampon change (sorry tmi). Temps are still up today, but dropping slightly. Very weird cycle. I'm so ready to be over with it.
