I RECENTLY SWITCHED FROM A MONTHLY CYCLE TO THE 3 MONTH CYCLE; THE PILLS WHERE SWITCHED AT MY REGULAR PERIOD TIME BUT IT WAS DELAYED BY 2 1/2 WEEKS AND THEN I RECEIVED A UNUSUALLY HEAVY FLOW FOR 15 DAYS. I CONTINUED TO TAKE THE PILLS THROUGHOUT BUT STOPPED. HOW SOON CAN I TAKE AN AT-HOME TEST?

I would take the test if you miss your next period. You can take one sooner if you want to put your mind at ease, but there is no promising that it will be right. That's the tricky thing about BC; you never really know what's going on until really strange things start happening. I'm going through the same thing with the patch. If you are pregnant, it's best to find out as soon as possible, but since your not taking the pills anymore, there should be no harm done if you are carrying a child. Plus, it's very hard to tell if you have conceived and if so when you conceived while on birth control. I would do what my heart told me too; if you want to test now, do so, but if you get a neg. result and don't get your period soon, I would definately take another one. If it's still negative, you should probably talk to your doctor.

It might me the fact that you are taking the pill for three months. I know when I had the shot for 3 months at a time I would not get my period the first two months then the 3rd month it would last for 1 - 3 weeks
