HPT Quot Period Quot Or Implantation

I had a "period" a couple days earlier than expected this past month, but before that I had been feeling exhausted and moody and had a lot of insane cravings, and these last couple days I've been feeling dizzy when I first get up in the morning. My period WAS lighter than usual, and it lasted for one day less than usual. Should I take a HPT? I have heard that if you're bleeding, your hormones may not be kicking in high enough for the test to read a positive, even if you ARE pregnant. I just FEEL like I'm pregnant, but I don't want to disappoint myself. I skimmed other responses but it seems like most aren't very specific . . . Could someone help me? Should I just go out and spring for the test? I read most women have sore br___ts in the first few weeks, but mine aren't sore OR swollen . . . I know I could be an exception, but the lack of this symptom makes me feel like maybe it's just wishful thinking. Thanks!

Hi Denise - I'm in the same boat as you. I had s_x twice around ovulation and on the day af was due had 1 or 2 days of light flow (brown not red and only mainly when I wiped). I took a hpt both days but -. I haven't tested since because it's so disappointing, but I still feel I could be pg. Just have an upset tummy feeling, tired and headaches. What's stopping me test again is I don't have sore b___sts so think maybe I'm not pg! Where did you learn about hormone levels during IB not being high enough? That's interesting (though I fear it may give me something else to hold onto!) I'm trying to hold out until the next af is due and/or use an opk next week (if I get a + on that I guess I'm not pg). Do you know if you had s_x around ovulation? I've read that so long as the blood isn't red it could well be IB. I've also read that a sign of pg is a missed period OR a lighter period than normal which gives us hope! Exactly when implantation takes place varies for everyone - the fertilised egg can hang around in 'space' for a while b4 it settles(!) but it can be as late as a day after a missed af. The brown blood means it's old blood from the uterine wall shedding when IB takes place and is normal. (I think I got that right..!) If I were you I'd get a hpt but try to wait until you're a week late... Good luck!

Some women do not have sore b___sts until a few weeks into pg. Also that may be a good sign since b___sts are sore before af too. Yes, when you bleed it reduces hormones. I suggest if you really want to test go buy the dollar tree tests. A lot of people say they are more sensitive anyways.

i took a hpt test 5 fays before my af was due and I got a bfp. I have taken one each day since and all were bfp. I took the test initially because I felt queezy. I have no other symptoms though, and this makes me a bit worried because I had a mc in april. My b___bs are sore yet, I hope they become sore soon though.

My cycles have always been very irregular, anywhere from 28 days to 64 days. It took us 18 months to conceive which ended in m/c in June. I had an u/s done afterwards & was told I had new eggs growing in my ovaries. We started ttc straight away but due to not having a clue when I would o, we have had relations every 2nd night so we didn't miss it. Today I have started spotting with some cramps but they are nowhere near as bad as a usual period. Could this be IB? I would be very surprised if it was my af as most say you won't get it for approx 4 to 6 weeks after a m/c & with my cycles usually being so long I would be very shocked if I got af just 18 days after m/c. I have done a hpt but got bfn. I have been tired, headachey & ga__sy but no sore b___bs. Now that I think about it I have been a little nauseous too.
