HPT Invalid Result

Well, now I'm really confused! I took a hpt this morning (first response) and after 3 minutes I checked it....no lines at all. After 5mins the same. So I figured the test was broken or I did it wrong and went back to bed. An hour later I looked at it and it had the control line in the main window and then just outside the main window was another pink line. (the entire stick was clear so I could see past the window) I know you're not supposed to trust the results after a certain amount of time, but I don't know how long...let alone what the result after and hour actually meant! Any one have any ideas? Thanks

I think you have to discount the result after 10mins, because you can get a false positive. I did a first response test today as well and there was a very, very faint line, like pretty much non-existant but now there is nothing. It maybe that you didn't have enough liquid on the stick and it took longer than normal to move up, have you tried another one?

Yes, it was neg. but the first one was with first morning urine and the second one later in the day.....have to try again tomorrow! I just had never heard of a positive line showing up after a while???? it was wierd. now, normally I don't check them again after the first time, but I left this one on the bathroom counter :)

My best friend took five tests - two a day - every other day - the first 4 were negative, but she just knew she was pregnant, so she took it one more time two days later - and finally - positive results...so don't believe the results of just one test - make sure you take another test before you start to believe any inconclusive results. Good Luck!!
