I Had Implantation Bleeding

Hi everyone, I have seen a lot of questions about implantation bleeding here, and I had it with my son, so I thought maybe I would give some info that may help some ladies here. Me and Dh were ttc, and I had my period and two and a half weeks later I had it again. I was disappointed bc we were ttc. This may be TMI so bear with me, when I went to the bathroom-I wiped and it was dark brown. So I grabbed a tampon and went about my day. Well, when I went to change it it was yellow and light pink. I didn't even need more than a panty liner and it lasted for 3 days. Then, two weeks later, I just had this strange feeling and I tested-negative, me and DH agrued about it, and I tested three days later and got my ++. When I went to the doc she said it sounded like IB. But, here is the thing that I see that isn't always true. You can get this when you should have your period, but more likely before. It isn't heavy. And, if you get it, it may take up to two weeks before you get a ++ on a pregnancy test. Hope this helps...

Jenn, you got IB 2.5 weeks after your last period. When did you O that month? That seems like it would have been near O time or only a few days afterward. How many dpo do you think you were when you had IB?

this was very helpful Jenn! I have been spotting- dark brown and a brownish pink... not enough to even get close to filling a pad in a 12 hour period. and it has last now for 4 days, on and off. and i am not due for my period for another week or so! I got a BFN this morning but your post is helping me be patient enough to retest in a week or so. thank you.

Hi-I was about 4-5 days post O when I experienced this bleeding. My ovulation varies a few days each month, I go based on cm and it has worked with all my pregnancies. I was confused bc I thought that it was my period too soon though-I had never heard of implantation bleeding until my doc told me about it. Described it to me as though she had seen it. Implanation takes from 7 to 14 days text says, but it can be sooner,-obviously, I have a 17 month old to show for it :) Marie-sounds good for you!! I am glad to be of help for you!

oh, I haven't had it with my other two pregnancies (one was a mc-so there was bleeding-but not implantation, and I am currently 16w 3 days and didn't have it with this pregnancy either). The doc said that it does vary between pregnancies.

I had a constant dull ache where my right ovary would be at 4-5 dpo. It is gone now but it was really weird. I usually get little shooting pains in my uterus but all over not just in one spot. Hmmm...Did you have any pains like that when you had IB?

Jenn - December 21

I have had cramping with all my pregnancies after ovulation. I usually get real crampy a day before my period. This is one of "my signs" that I know when we've been successful. This last was the worst though. I wasn't suppose to O till the 16 (friday) of sept. I always have s_x from 5 days before to 2 days after. well, on that wednesday I had such bad cramps that we could have s_x at all! I thought maybe I was just sore from too much baby making-but we concieved and my ultrasound dated my conception date to be that monday. I cramped all the way up till I got + test. Which was 11 days later. I had O'd real early that month too. I get ovulation pains too. On the left side mostly when I do get it. I have never had o spotting though.

I dont spot with O either. I just get the O pains. I do get post-O pains too, but they usually are the shooting pains that I was talking about before. This month, though, I had a constant pain on my right side that comes and goes but stays pretty constant. Not sure what to think about that yet.

Jenn, Oh my, I too had some strange clear CM with red streaks and cramps like 2 1/2 weeks after my period. I thought it was my period extremely early. Then it was brown for like 3 more days. I am now on day 45 of my cycle. My cycles go anywhere from 28-42 days. I took a test last week and it was negative so I have not given it another thought. Maybe I am pregnant! But if I did have implantaion bleeding like you did wouldnt a test have been positive by now?? Please help!!!! Thank you

Jenn - December 22

Hi stacey-how many days ago did you have this cm?? Because you still have to factor the 2 weeks bc if that is ib, then it will still take 10-14 days for a test to be ++. Good luck to you!

Stacy - December 22

Jenn, thanks so much for the response and I forgot to congratulate you!!!!. Anyway, I had that early period thing like 29 days ago! It was 2 1/2 weeks after my last period. My last period wa 11/08. I am like half way through the next cycle allready. may lst - HPT was a week ago. i guess I should test again today or wait for AF. It is funny, I really thought when this did happen, it was implantation byt when I got the - test I put it out of my head. Usually the - tests make AF come. Not this time I guess. I will test and let you know the outcome. Did anyone ever have to wait over two weeks late to get a BFP????

joannie - December 23

I am curious if IB can happen a week after missed AF. It has been 5 weeks since last AF. Now I have had light spotting for two days. Im normally med to heavy bleeder not this time and no cramping.

joannie - December 23

well looks like its not my month. Started extreme bleeding about 1 1/2 hours ago. heavy enough to soak through one tampon and two super absorb. pads. called doc said it sounds like m/c. wants me to go and get checked.

Emily - December 23

so sorry Joannie. I have also had a m/c and it is hard no matter how long you have carried it. Lots of hugs to you!

collegegirl - December 23

joannie I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.... Maybe next cycle will be better..... good luck
