I will be 6dpo on friday and am concerned that I will be disappointed again. This is our 3rd month ttc, I know a lot of people have been trying for much longer than I have but that doesn't take away the pain when you see that stupid BFN. Tell me your story.

hey there, don't give up hope. It's amazing when you start trying to get pg that everything is a symptom and we set ourselves up for a fall. People will tell you to relax and not worry about it, which is great advice but it doesn't make you feel any better! My advice would be not to think about testing until you are late (hard I know!) and try not to obsess too much. 97% of couples get pg in the first year of trying, so hang in there. Me and dh started trying almost 5 years ago, I knew I had PCOS and would probably take longer to conceive as I have irregular periods. We had a m/c early on and nothing again for ages. Finally went to my doctor February 2006 and he referred us to the fertility centre. Have been going there for a year now. So far, we have found out there was no sperm in dhs samples and have now discovered he has a mild form of cystic fibrosis which caused the blockage. They said I must have got pg before the blockage occurred. They can do a testicular biopsy to remove the sperm and inject it straight into an egg. I have to have a test done first to see if I carry the gene for cystic fibrosis and if I do they have to send us to London (I live in Northern Ireland) to do the IVF and they test the embryos to see if they have cystic fibrosis and only use the ones that are healthy. I remember being in your position and wanting a baby right now. It has really taught me to have patience! I really hope you don't have to wait this long to have a baby. What age are you by the way?

I just wanted to say don't give up hope! If you don't have any symptoms or don't feel it is your month it does not mean it won't be! I tried for 11 months and then i got my bfp. I know how frustrating it can be and honestly i wasn't feeling pregnant when i got my bfp! you hear how everyone gets so many symptoms... well mine weren't so DOMINANT! Mine were little things... like i'd sporadically get little tinglies in my legs or a pinching feeling behind my belly b___ton.... also headaches were more common for me and i also got some lower backaches which i don't usually get but it is all stuff that can be related to pms as well so i tried to not get my hopes up and when i peed on the stick i was expecting to get a negative but i just thought i'd test anyway... and to my surprise i had a second line. it was the most scary but yet exciting thing in the world... of course it was followed by more tests and then going to get it confirmed by the drs!!! Now i'm 21 weeks pregnant with a little girl and it is one awesome journey! I'm in the stages of feeling her move now and just last night i saw my tummy moving as i felt her move (the first time my tummy moved like that) ITS GREAT! i wish you the best of luck.

Well, here is my story, my husband and i have been together for 7 years, and since i met him we have never had protected s_x, never got pg, and AF always normal, doctors say that he had a low sperm count i have the a___lyst (but dont know how to read it) and im 8 days late, and no sign of AF,,, took a test and BFN, and DH so disappointed...... trying to figure things out but nothing happening.... hope all goes well with you, im all out of faith!

Thanks you guys. Natasha- You have waited a long time. I hope every thing goes perfectly for you from now on. I feel bad for complaining after hearing your story. I will be 32 in february and already have a daughter, her name is Madalyn and she is 21 months today. Rainbowbrite- I know exactly what you mean as far as the symptoms. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I had no idea I was pregnant until I took the hpt and then I couldn't believe it. I had been out shopping with a friend, when I got close to home I decided to stop at the drug store for a test. When I got home I daid to my cat (his name is Baxter), " hey baxter, maybe if Itake the test in the downstairs bathroom it will hame a difference?" And... it did. I was so excited and shocked that I stood up and started yelling, "no way, no freakin way." Then I gathered up everything, the test the instructions, the box and even the celophane wraping and ran across the street to a friends house. It really was a fun experience. I really expected a negative test like you did. Is this your first child? Congratulations!!! :} Nickay- I am so sorry for your circ_mstances, but that is promising that you are so late. i have talked to a lot of women who say they didn't get a positive hpt until 3-7 weeks. Could yo go get a blood test? Please don't give up. Boy do I feel like an a__s after hearing all your stories. I'm sorry ladies. I already have one child and here I am complaining. What a jerk I am!

nickay - November 9

not a jerk at all, dont say that, at least we all have someone to talk to, that is the nice thing.

mjvdec01 - November 9

I just feel bad. But I am happy to have someone to talk to. Are you going to call the doc for a blood draw. Maybe you are upset for no reason? 8 days late for a normally regular cycle sounds very suspect to me. A low sperm count doesn't mean no sperm count and it only takes one of the little buggers to do the trick! I wish you would callthe doctor. :} Anyway, I have asthma and I need to vacuum before I start wheezing, I am allergic to dust and to my cats, then I have to go to Costco. i will check back in about 2 hours. Baby dust to all!!!

Hi, I just wanted to say that you shouldn't feel like an a$$ or a jerk. It doesn't matter how long you've been trying, it's still upsetting and really hard to see that bfn when all you want is a baby. I have a son who is 14 and now I have been ttc for 67 months (5-1/2yrs). We did get pg in April of this year but m/c in June at 11weeks. Keep your head up! Don't lose hope! Did you know that there is only a 20% chance of getting pg each month even if all circ_mstances are perfect? Anywho, I am either 3dpo or 8dpo. Not really sure because I didn't use opk's this month and FF changed my ov day. Crazy! I prefer to only be 3dpo(ov on cd13 which is normal) b/c we bd'd that day and two days before. It would not be good if I ov early on cd8 (making me 8dpo) because we only bd'd on cd4 and cd9. Not very good chances. I hope you don't mind me joining you. All the ladies I used to talk to got their BFP's. Yay for them but bummer for me because I lost my friends so now I need to make some new ones. Hope to chat with you more through our 2ww.

Thanks Bren- of course you are welcome. i'm sorry it is taking so long. i have to leave for Costco, so i'll check back later.

nickay - November 9

i called the doctor and he is sending me in for a test today..... hopefully i will have some results in on Monday,, (not looking promising).. no signs since last week

In the middle of vacuuming I all the suffen got the urge to re arrange the entire family room. I must be crazy. As soon as I close the trunk with all my daughters toys she immediately wants everything in it. i don't know why I couldn't wait until nap time to get nuts! Anyway, that took so long that now it's too close to lunch time and NAP TIME :} to go out. Nickay- I am so glad you are going for blood work. The most logical explaination for your late period considering you are actively trying to get pregnant is pregnancy. I don't want to set you up for disappointment, however you might be. Sperm count shmerm count- this might be your month. I don't work so any time any of you want to talk I am here.

mjvdec01 - November 9

anyone there?

nickay - November 9

OMG! just got back from the doctors... and he checked out my DH sperm a___lyst, and he said all is fine except for low... im so over the word low! anyhow, he said though even if it comes back neg (I know that it will) i still have to wait...at least 4 weeks before ruling out pregnancy.., depending when it concieved, it has been 7 years trying to TTC and now... now it can be happing! i dont get it. How far from Conception (thinking when it would take place) do you wait?

mjvdec01 - November 9

I say you on another thread and posted, but conception takes palce almost right away. anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours is the average time it takes for the sperm to travel up the falopian tube to meet the egg and fertilize. For example: I know I ovulated on the 3rd, so I will wait approximately 6 days for implantation and then another 8 to test for a total of 14 days. Is that what you wanted to know? Also you should know that some women don't get a positive hpt for several weeks after their missed period. The suspense is killing me, I can just imagine how you feel having waited so long already. :}

nickay - November 9

let me explain... last AF was October 4th, O on the 18th, and suppose to get my AF on Nov 1st, (usually 28-29 days)... i tested early this morning and nothing, a BFN and no AF.. doctor sent me to blood work and said that it still may be too soon... is that normal?

nickay - November 9

be back in a few,

mjvdec01 - November 9
