Oh, man it was depressing. It was about a three year old kid who smothered his baby brother, and the teenage brother who was babysitting didn't notice until after the fact. Then the family covered it up to protect the three year old. I can't imagine what something like that would feel like for a mother. It made me want to cry...and that's saying a lot. I usually don't get mushy over tv shows or movies...

I have found that I have a hard time watching shows that involve little babies getting hurt. It makes me want to run up and wake up my 1 1/2 year old to love and hug and kiss her, adn to tell her how much I love her. Ever since I had had a baby, I find that I get that way with things like that. It all started when we started trying for actually. But I was very lucky and it only took me 4 months. I am now preg with our second. you have any kids? I can't remember....also I don't think your mean or rude, just honest, I don't think there is anything wrong with stating the truth, some of these people need to hear the truth instead of what they want to hear......

I know how your feel! I never use to cry on tv shows and now that I have been ttc I want to cry all the time. Have ya watched that new show called Miracal (sp?) worker? It is so hard to watch without crying.

Thanks, Emily. No kids yet, we're trying for #1. These shows still depress me, though. And I LOVE the baby story show (but hate the wedding one - I don't give a c___p how two random strangers met). Jenny, I've never seen Miracle worker. What station is it normally on and what's it about?

Oh my gosh, I know what you mean. I used be in the police academy and the things they show you....it tore me in half. I then decided I didn't want to be a cop because honestly....I have 2 kids of my own and if I came face to face with one of those sc_m bags that hurt children lets just say I wouldn't have been able to take him just to jail.

I've got a cop in the family, and he's got some horror stories of calls he responded to, including one that involved an open front door and daddy driving off to work. I won't go into details, but let me just say it must have been absolutely horrifying to have to witness.

I watched that show last night. I almost cried too. I just can't imagine. I have had conversations with my dh about the what if our son was missing or kidnapped. I told him I would rather have him show up dead than missing for years because if he is dead I know he is safe if he stays missing I don't know if he is being abused in terrible ways, and then if he is abused and returned to us how damaged is he going to be for the rest of his life. I don't know I just pray that nothing ever happens to him or anyone else's children.

Quite often I get floated off to the other ICUs and I have a hard time in the PICU, NICU I find alot easier.... sounds strange but babies don't have as much personality as kids. I primarily work in the cardiac ICU, and so far this year we have had 3 post-partum cardiomyopathies. That's extremely devistating to a new family... first it's all happy with a new baby, then 2-3 days later mom's on life support and we're praying for a transplant.
