Hi ladies, here's my story, I hope some of you can share your own stories with me so I know if I am not alone in this. Myself and my fiance have been ttc for 9 months. Up to now I have had regular 28 day cycles, to the day, right from when I came off the pill. My last mp was 28th Feb, and my next is due on 27th March. However, 2 days ago (19th March), 9 days before my period is due, I had some bleeding, a little heavy at first, nothing to fill a pad though, it was mainly when I wiped and then it turned to brown, what looked like old blood. It lasted for 24-36 hours in total and has now stopped. My mp's are alwasy 5 days long and consistent, heavyish. It's driving me crazy as I have never had an early period before, certainly not a 19 day cycle! Do any of you think this could be implantation bleeding? Have any of you expereinced the same or a similar thing and actually been pregnant? I hope you can share your stories with me, I know it's too early to take a pregnancy test as my period isn't due for another week. Please share your thoughts/ experiences. xxx

It seems a little early for implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding usually comes around the time your period is due (mine came a few days after). This sounds more like ovulation spotting. It sounds like you are ovulating a little later than you would expect, and this happens to a lot of women. If this is the case, then is seems as if you have a short luteal phase (9 days). You want to have a luteal phase of at least 10 days or your body won't support a pregnancy, which may be a reason why you have not conceived by now. There are some things you can do to lengthen a luteal phase, taking vitamin B6 for example is said to extend your luteal phase. I had shorter cycles (26 days) which would estimate my ovulation at cd12, but when I used opk's, I realized that I was really ovulating on cd16!

Hi want2beamummy,Deb it is not to early for implantation bleeding, I had implantation bleeding 6 days past ovulation. I felt like something was coming out of me and when I went and looked it was brown spotting on my underwear. For the rest of that day and the next I had it only when I wiped. I'm 6 weeks pregnant. I took a test 5 days before my period was due and had a faint post_tive.

Your situation sounds pretty similar to what I'm going through right now...my period is due this coming weekend and this past Sunday, I began having the same type of spotting you're having. For kicks, I tested this morning, even though it's too early and of course, got a negative. I'm still hoping it's implantation bleeding, but waiting to see for sure. From everything I've read, the implantation bleeding seems to last 24-48 hours, so if that's what this is, it should be winding down. And then I'll be looking for my period in a few days, unless I actually AM pregnant (crossing my fingers). Keep me posted...good luck!!

my implantation bleeding was at about the same time-I thought it was a period two weeks ealry! I was very upset-but it only last 2 days-mostly when wiping like you said and I got a ++ about two weeks later. Sounds good to me!!!

i am having the exact same thing!!! Yesterday night, i wiped and i had like dark brown, then i woke up to dark red thick, then it slowed down drastically to a bright red trickle, with some clearish stuff to it. My symptoms are getting worse and worse, ive taken 2 test, both negative, of course so I'm going to take a test later on this week and hope for the best. My DB isnt very excited about having a baby (totally wrong time in our lives) but if i am, then i am. So we've just been praying for God's will. if you want to chat or talk feel free to im/e-mail me : [email protected] or Down2therivertx (aim) best of luck!

It's so good to know that I'm not the only one out there having "symptoms" and not knowing what it means and going crazy waiting!! You guys are a Godsend! This is only our 2nd month ttc and it feels like it's been forever. Will I EVER see that little "+" sign??

Girls, thank you so much for your reply. It is so comforting to know that there are other women out there going through the same thing, and at the same time too. It's good as we can compare notes. I also hope it is not ovulation bleeding but I thank you Deb for taking the time to respond. I'm hoping and praying that it is implantation bleeding. Thanks for your replies andrea2, rossgirl, jenn and maybebaby06. I wish baby dust to you all! I shall wait until the weekend, just before my period would have been due and I shall try and preg test. Fingers crossed. I would also only have been 6 days after ovulation once I started bleeding. I'm ovulating around the 12-14th day past my mp as I've tried ovulation kits to pinpoint the right time. Just to let you girls know, I was reading one of these forums yesterday and a lady mentioned a pyschic who predicts the month your baby will be born in. Her name is Cherie and I thought I'd send her an email yesterday. She emailed me back saying that 'they' have told her that what I am experiencing is in fact 'implantation' bleeding and that I am pregnant now with a Son! I know, I know, it's a long shot that she's got it right but hey it's harmless fun and I do hope she is right! My bleeding has almost disappeared completely now after 2 days but I'm keeping an eye on it. Girls, please keep me informed of how you all get on, it really does help. It's a trying tike for all of us hey! ;o) Take care and I look forward to receiving your replies. xxx

Jenn, if the spotting you had was two weeks before your expected period, then it was most likely due to ovulation, not implantation. Most women *don't* get implantation bleeding, and they certainly don't get it around the time they ovulate. want2beamummy - I personally think that your bleeding was quite a lot to be implantation bleeding. I've had periods lighter than that recently, and mine have always been five days, too. That said, it seems a bit heavy for ovulation spotting, too, so I can't explain it. Perhaps you ovulated really early this month. At any rate, I agree with Deb about using opks. They'll give you more of a clear idea of when you ovulate. Temping wouldn't hurt, too, because it could confirm whether or not you've actually ovulated. I'd certainly try that at least once after 9 months. Are you sure you've been ovulating?

want2beamummy - March 21

Lin, I've used ovulation kits which have indicated that I have been ovulating when I should have. However, in response to your comment that I may have ovulated early this month, this is a possibility. I remember on 6th March, 7 days after my last mp, I had a lot of cv which was very noticeable for a day or so. Maybe I ovuilated early, around this time which would mean, if I had conceieved that day then the spotting would have started after 13 days past ov. Are you also ttc? How long have you been ttc for? I'm wondering if 9 months is long or average? Thanks.

Lin - March 21

9 months isn't so long if you haven't been charting, but I'd see a doc if you make it to month 12. Can I ask how old you are? The older you are, the longer it can take. I've been ttc for almost 6 months now, but I've been charting since month 3. As for the opks - they can't tell you whether or not you've ovulated. They can only tell you when you've had an LH surge, which is possible without ovulation. Only temping can confirm that you've actually ovulated.

want2beamummy - March 21

Hi Lin, what should I do to check temp then? Is there a kit you buy, etc? I may try that. I am 29 years old and this will be my first child which I finally conceive. I hadn't thougt about testing my temp before but if I don't catch this month then I'll definately start, just need to know what to do and what to look for. Does temping tell you if you are deinfately ovulating then? Do you test daily? xx

Jenn - March 21

no lin-mine was implantation-it occured a few days after ovulation-and about two weeks later I got a positive test-it was confirmed by my doctor-I thought it was an early period at the time when, in fact, I had concieved. I have never had ovulation spotting.

want2beamummy - March 21

Hi Jenn, that sounds promising for me then. I

want2beamummy - March 21

OOOPS! Hi Jenn, that sounds promising for me then. I started spotting around 6-7 days after I think I would have ovulated. I haven't taken a test yet as it's disheartening to see a bfn, and I knownit's too soon anyway. So it took 2 weeks for you to show up a bfp after you had implantation bleeding? I'll bear that in mind when I'm testing. Thanks. xx

want2beamummy - March 21

Another thing I've noticed is that I keep getting the feeling that my mp has arrived, a trickley feeling down below so I dash to the bathroom, but there is nothing there. Did you experience a similar sensation or is it my mind playing tricks on me!? Congratulations on your news by the way, I wish you all the health and happiness through this special time. xx

Jenn - March 21

yeah-I remember taking three tests and all came back neg. Then, finally I got a bfp-I think I had that bleeding about nine days before I was expecting my period cause I remember thinking "but I its too soon for my period." So it does take time. I haven't experienced it with any of my other pregnancies, just my son. And my cycles have varied from 24 days to 34 days some months.
