Impossible Right

Well, my fiance and I have s_x a few times a month. I'm on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, but I'm verrrry bad about always taking it on time (frequently take it 1 - 6 hours late) and I occasionally miss pills (but double up the next day). We also use condoms and withdrawal in addition to my horrible pill-taking. I've had regular periods, however, they are sooo light and short lately. They used to last 5 days and were heavy. Now, they last 3 and are extremely light. Last time we had s_x was June 5 (times before that were May 14, 15, and 28, 29), and my last light light period started on June 29 (but like I said, it was unusual). The period before that was on June 1, and it was also short and light. I took two hpt's (dollar store brand) about 6 days after the start of my June 29th period, and they both came out negative. However, I'm feeling bloated ALL the time, hungry all the time, metallic taste in my mouth that developed today, always tired, and i'm frequently nautious during the night. I have no br___t tenderness though. Am I crazy for considering pregnancy as a possibility in this situation?

Your period can get progressively lighter when taking the pill, so we can't take that as a sign of pregnancy. Your contraception sounds fair to good, since you take combined precautions. The pill can cause fake pregnancy signs, which may be what is happening. However, s_x May 14/15 was right for ovulation. Fatigue, nausea and the metallic taste are significant. Maybe you should run a weekly hpt this month and check your folic acid intake just in case. Good luck!

Even though the s_x May 14/15 was right for ovulation, I still had those two very scant periods on June 1, and June 29....so could there still be a chance of pregnancy from that specific time?
