Even if you have irregular long cycles, can you still ovulate right after your period? Anyone please answer if you know, I'm desparate for answers right now? does irregular periods throw off your next month to where as you can ovulate right after your period? Please help

The reason why I have to ask is because all the medical websites are so cliche and 99% of the info on them only say what happens with textbook periods/pregnancies. I need answers from real women w/ real life experiences.

Usually they predict that a women only O 12-15 days after her period, yet if there is enough hormone presented this could happen anytime. In fact, my sister got pregnant with twins right after she had her period, so yes you can O right after your period. You can O anytime during that month after your period, try to start taking your temp right after you have your af or look for the signs of Ovulation. Since you have irregular periods that might help. Best of luck.

okay, now here is adding to the problem, 3 days straight of brown spotting. The spotting started 6 days after s_x. Please help. Is this a clear sign that my girlfriend might be pregnant, I've also now read that there is such thing a ovulation spotting... this is so confusing, I need answers from real women, not medical websites. Thank you if you can help

Also if it is implantion bleeding how long does it last? Please, Please, somebody help me.

Sounds like implantation bleeding to me. I had it with both of my pregnancies and it started about cd20 - cd21. & mine lasted about 2 to 3 days (brown and pink) slight cramping. Good luck, you can test 10 dpo, test, test, test, test!!!!!!!!

Hi, Just wondering if you ladies could help. My af is due from 14th Oct onwards (not entirely sure as cycles are pretty irregular and range between CD28-39). I noticed a bit of brownish blood when i wiped and the usual EWCM about the time i was ov. Then last week i bled (bright red) after we bd'd twice something i've never done before. Could this be pg symtoms?? or is this a symtom of PCOS something I've been suspecting i have got for the past few months?? Baby dust

just an imput to your ovulation question, i have read that even if your periods are irregular, your time you ovulated is usually always the same...12 to 14 days before your period started. if you count backwards, then you are more likey to know when you ovulated then trying the counting 12-14 days after your period., because that is the side that varies the most. the days between o and your period is the more consistant one.

forgot to add...you can ovulate right after your period, but usually that is with women who have short cycles not long. but you never know......

this is all the crazy thing, with my girlfriend she had fullness of b___st and other preg symtoms last month but did have AF, we did have s_x on CD 10 this month because we thought she wasn't pregnant and would not ovulate til later, 6 days later brown spotting occurs. One thing I forgot to add, her long erratic periods were so odd that she had alot of signs of being anovulatory or possible PCOS (this may be whe she could have ovulated at anytime.) Alot of the info I am getting now is info I never would have know about if I wasn't worried and cared to look into because of our situation. Any men or women out there, if you don't want to get pregnant take my word of advice use contraceptive, don't play the guessing game like we did. With this spotting, she probably is pregnant, only time will tell. I'm still confused, but thank god for the (possible) baby's sake, it will be taken care of with loving parents. Also to Shez, my GF had 30-37 day irregularity and there were/are some similarities of what you described.

Also, like somewhat mentioned above. As I just learned that my GF being anovulatory some months makes Ovulation a complete guessing game because your hormones don't act like they should w/ a regular cycle, so if anybody knows anything about this your input is very welcome, because I still don't have the pieces of the puzzle. I must also add I am here becuase my GF just saw her sister have a baby and now is afraid to be pregnant so is afraid to take a HPT, so in the meantime all I have is you guys for help. Thank you so so so so much!!!!!

js - October 10

I'm out of town right now, but my GF is going to buy a HPT and I will find the results in a few hours. If anyone is interested let me know and I will post results right here. I figure the knowledge may help others
