Is It Possible To Get Pregnant 4-6 Days Before Your Period?

Dutches, I think the people telling you this are getting period mixed up with ovulation. It is practically impossible to get pregnant having sex just before or just after your period, unless you have a very short cycle (it would have to be a 15 day cycle). |

Rachael, if it is a 28 day cycle, you should ovulate around the 14th Jan (it's always from the start of your period), so you seem to be doing the right thing. Your window would be 7th to 14th Jan. 8th - 10th is bang on target and once a day should be ample. |

So I guess I have a stupid question now - Last month after my question I did get my period 3 days late and it was normal however I should be having my period now and I had a little spotting 2 days ago and I have cramps but my period is no where to be found - I have not had sex but is it possible to be pregnant and still have had a normal period?? I did not take another test but I'm going to purchase one in the morning |

My boyfriend is in the military and we had sex on christmas eve and my period is due on the 29th. I am late now and kinda freaking out. I am in college and had finals the week before he came home. I am pretty sure its stress and emotions since he left the day after new years. but is there a chance i am pregnant? |

also it was always using a condom and he pulls out as he finishes so he never finishes inside me. I have no symptoms other than a small ache in my back that i usually get a week before my period |

Hi, I'm wondering if it's a good chance I'm pregnant. My last period was Dec.23-27. We had unprotected sex on Dec 29 & Jan 2. My cycle ranges 26-28days. According to some online calculators/tools I use, fertile days started Jan 2 and I should've ovulated on/before Jan 7 (again this is due to the +/- day range of my cycle). I took a HPT this morning but it was negative...probably too soon. Is pregnancy possible? When should I test again? Symptoms: extreme hunger subsided w/small amts of food,no acne/pimples like normal b4 period,mont tubercles (tiny & large on areolas/nips,whitish centers) seems 2 b more in #,tired,slight headache, weird crampy full feeling,sharp pains in lower abdomen & mostly right, nausea,more frequent urination. I hope this isn't all in my head. We're a littl concerned we won't have a baby. Also today I ate ice cream and it didn't taste the same....couldn't really taste it. |

OK so I have an issue, I haven't got my period which was due on the 12th of this month. My BF and I had sex on the 10th,11th,12th, and 13th with no condoms B/C I had my tubes tied 10 years ago. My period is NEVER late, is it possible I could be pregnant? And how long after you do get pregnant will it show up on a home pregnancy test? |

It is possible to be pregnant and still have normal periods, it's not very common but it does happen. |

First, I put the condom on the wrong way, so my pre-cum touched the tip, I then put it on the right way and wiped the tip the pre-cum had gotten onto. After we finished, I pulled out slowly and carefully, then wiped the condom again to see if there was any leakage or seepage, there was none. She's worried about being pregnant her period has been off by 3 days, she has had a past with late periods, but should I be worried? |

In addition, her menstrual cycle is usually on the 28th, the time we had intercourse was before the 22nd. I know that having intercourse and stressing out increases the likelihood of having a late period, but thanks again in advance. |

Also curious too... i had a miscarriage in dec. tried getting pregnant again in Jan.. didnt work... hes now deplying and left jan 30th. i may be able to see him in on the 6th for that day only. and my period should start around the 9th or so.... any chances of getting pregnant then or am i just getting my hopes up... online it says i "should" ovulate later on in the month i just hope its wrong!! =/ |

Hi Amanda, I'm afraid there is very little chance of getting pregnant that close to your period. A woman usually ovulates half-way through her cycle. If your cycle is 28 days, your next ovulation will be around 23rd March and sperm only lives up to 7 days, meaning you'd need to have sex no earlier than 16th March to even consider getting pregnant, and closer to ov is better. |

I need help! I had sex on the 6th, no condom...He says he pulled out but since that day I have been feeling a little icky...I looked on my calendar and I'm supposed to start my period either on the 10th, 11th or 12th. My cycle has always been 28 to 30 days. My friends have gotten me scared that I might be pregnant! So is it possible I am? Or am I just feeling so stressed that I'm making myself sick? I don't even feel icky til I go to bed, so for the rest of the day I'm fine...Any suggestions? |
