Is It Really Safe To Have Sex Question In First Tri Section

Hi ladies - i'm hoping for my BFP this weekend - and have a quick question. Me and my my partner tend to make love throughout the month, and that includes the lead up to AF. I've been thinking about this all month, and my problem is this - all the sites say s_x during pregnancy is safe - but that pertains to s_x later in pregnancy (5/6/7 months....). Is it safe to have s_x in the lead up to testing for pregnancy? I have found that I tend to get my AF when I use the toilet after s_x (around time it would be due) but the s_x seems to bring it on. Could this bring on a miscarriage if I happen to be pregnant? At the time of the month s_x is painful as my cervix is usually low for impending AF.....Any ideas? Thanks xx

hi, me too had the same question.. many sites say there is no probs to have s_x during 5 to 8th... but none of them mention about the first 3 months. I happened to ask this question with my mom - who says it is better to be careful and avoid s_x until u get a definite positive which includes blood test too... This is what my mother told me... i dont know how far it is true!

sx at any time during pregnancy is perfectly fine - unless you have a bleed. if you bleed, the docs prefer you to wait till 3 months, ask if not sure. x x

Thanks keerthy and kelbabe. I only ask because as I said - I tend to get my period when I use the toilet after s_x. I know AF would have been due at that point anyway - but was just concerned - in case I was pregnant this month and s_x brings on my AF! Thanks for the advice! Baby dust to everyone! xx

Hey ya, I always got my period alot quicker after s_x because when i orgasmed alot of cervical mucus and the my uterus walls would contract causing bleeding, But i suppose it depends. I think alot people still have s_x right up to the time they gte a BFP without even knowing they are pregnant so it should be fine for women in the first tri. Baby Juice

Thanks GimmeaBub - I suppose you are right - I just panic - in case I'm pregnant and miscarry. I might just avoid s_x for a while! x

Im due on Saturday - at the latest - cycles all over the place last 6 months - so i'll test on Saturday and if BFN wait until following weekend. What other symptoms have you had? I get so confused. I never thought I had pre AF symptoms before we started ttc - now every month I have thought - this could be it - but NO - AF shows. This month I'm hoping for BFP!! Good luck with your BFP!! xx
