Ok, as I posted on here earlier, I had my Pelvic Ultrasound Scan this afternoon (for infertility, not Pregnancy). I am in shock. I have one Polycystic ovary. I have never even read up on this, as I am not overweight, no heavy periods, and not a lot of body hair, which I believed the typical symptoms to be. I need to start reading ! After being clued up on everything else I thought I might have, I never gave this one much thought. How does this affect my chaces of conceiving? What is it? I ov every month, regularly on day 14, so I didn't think there could be a chance I have this - obviously I was wrong :(

So sorry to hear!! I too have PCOS. Did they do blood work?? What are they testing you for?? You cannot confirm you have PCOS unless blood work also, I believe anyways. Dr. told me that even 10 pounds overweight makes a difference, and o'ing every cycle have you been temping to confirm this?? It does make concieving "harder' they say but it is VERY possible and many success stories are out there! What did your dr. say as your next step??? Sorry for the news sweetie!!

I have had blood tests done for certain hormone levels. Here in the UK, we get sent appointments for various things when we are being investigated for infertility. We then gradually have all tests done ( I have had bloodwork, HSG and now ultrasound and waiting for a Lap) and at the end of it all our OB will give us his diagnosis and treat accordingly. I am 5'6" and only weigh 112lbs! I have 28 day cycles, ov'ing on day 14 (I know this because of OPK's and taking my BBT). I don't get it ! They said one of my ovaries 'looks polycystic', but with everything I've just said, could they be wrong ?

Very rare, but does happen, underweight/normal weight women have PCOS. They very well could be wrong and in your case, I sure hope so. Are you Insulin resistance?? Been tested for Diabetes?? Only one ovary they saw "string of pearls"??? How frustrating!! Do you have any body hair?? Stomach, chin, lip, face, arms, etc. that is more then "normal"? Look up the symptoms and see. I don't have all the symtoms either but I am more of a "cla__sic" case with being overweight and irratic cycles. Maybe complete the testing with this dr and then get a second opinion???

Hi, sorry to hear that you have PCOS. I was told 6 years ago that I have PCOS. I have had two littles ones since then and may be preggo know. I think Megs is right if you have not had blood work I would try to get it done soon.

I have not a single one of the symptoms - I have just looked some up. I have no excess body hair, no acne, not overweight, no excess bits of skin, and completely regular cycles, O'ing every month (+OPK). Have rung my GP and she isn't there, but they've left a message for her to call me back in the morning.

And I know I have been tested for diabetes in the past, which came back negative.
