Just Wondered

I did an early response pregnancy test on Tuesday as I was 2 days and it came up with a feint pink line within about 15 seconds. I have been ttc for 26 months now and have never had such a noticeable feint line if you know what I mean. I have sworn in the past I have seen lines that were perhaps not there and made my DH put them upto the window so that he could see them and he never could.....bless! Well I was very shocked that I got this and even more shocked when the positive line disappeared after about 30 minutes. The test was 100% done correctly and when I phoned the helpline number on the back of the box the lady said that it was a definate positive and that the test must have dried up - perhaps not enough urine on the stick and to test again as I would for sure get a darker positive. I took her advice and did another first response the next morning and it came back negative. I was gutted and phoned the helpline again where they simply said that it was a fertilised egg that has not implanted. I thought that your body only released pregnancy hormones once the egg has imbedded itself?? Anyway I am now 6 days late and did a different brand test yesterday and this too was negative. I just wondered if this had happened to anyone else were they got a + and then - and infact were preggers?? I had numerous false negatives with my son and tested every 3 days until I finally got a BFP at nearly 10 weeks. I am trying so hard to convince myself that I am not preggers and waiting for AF to show, but as each day drags out I just can't help it. The week before my AF was due I had extremely sore nipples to the touch and this accompanied with terrible backache lasted 5 days. I have been having mild AF pains (which I usually get the few hours before I come on) on and off for the past 5 or 6 days, peeing alot and also for the past 2-3 days I have had ALOT of milky/creamy discharge which again I have had once before AF, but then it came a few hours later. Any advice would be greatly appreciated before I end up bald!!!! xx

Your experience of not testing positive until 10 weeks, along with many other posts here, tells you that a negative home test is not conclusive. The nipple and backache signs were good, but where have they gone? Peeing remains, and creamy discharge which can be caused by a cyst as well as a pregnancy - oh, let's not forget the missing period! BTW, I agree with you about no hCG before implantation, but I suppose implantation can be here one moment and gone the next. Bottom line is, I don't know either. Advice is to wear a tight-fitting hat until the suspense is over. Test weekly until next AF or a quant_tative blood test. Good luck!

Many thanks Grandpa Viv xx I know I need to be patient and just wait it out, but it's so hard. It's 11:40pm here so nearing the end of my 6th day, probably wait until Monday am when I will do another one.
