Hi Lin, Ive read many of your posts, and i realise you are fairly knowledgable about charting temps. I was wondering if you could take a look at my chart on FF and tell me what you think. Its says i ovulated on CD11 but I think its incorrect bc of some of my primary and secondary signs. Please let me know.

Lin - March 30

I'd be happy to. Post the url, and I'll take a look.

Thanks so much. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/index.php?interface=0

chellababy - March 30

I think I did that wrong.

I'm not sure exactly what to post.

You actually have to make a homepage on FF first in order to post it. That url just takes me to my own chart. Give me a minute, and I'll look up exactly what links take you to it and let you know. Be back in a few...

Ok, use the "Sharing" link on the right to go to "Homepage Setup." Once you go there, it's pretty self-explanatory how to set up your homepage. Once you get it all set up, then copy that homepage url and paste it here. Good luck sorting it all out!

Thank You. Be back in sec.

Oops! The "sharing" link is on the left!

for some reason its in Fahrenheit and I originally posted in celsius

Lin - March 30

You have to set which scale you're using. If it's an American site, then the default is probably Fahrenheit. Anyway, I'm taking a look now...

That looks like a very reasonable approximation of ovulation. If your temps go back down and then up again, it might recalculate it. Mine usually looks pretty similar and ends up going up in steps. I bet you'll see another increase in the next few days. My symptoms don't always match, either, but I'm pretty sure that temps are most accurate. If I recall correctly, cp and cm are caused by estrogen (I think that's right) before ovulation, and the temp increase is due to progesterone that is released due to ovulation, which is why it's more accurate. If ovulation hasn't occurred, then you won't see a progesterone increase and hence a temp increase. Feel free to look at my charts - they include all the other symptoms as well: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/lin

Its just that on Tuesday I had the weirdest cramps. I could feel my ovary hurting you know? I when I had intercouse it was slightly uncomfortable at first. I'm on vitex to help regulate my cycles. Do you know if I should continue taking vitex for the rest of my cycle or stop because Ive apparently already ovulated?

Lin - March 30

Sorry, I can't tell you anything about Vitex, because I know nothing about it. Perhaps someone else can answer that question. If nobody answers by the end of the day, then start another thread asking that question. Try doing a search with the search box at the top of the page, too, because someone may have asked that question and gotten an answer before. Keep in mind that what FF calculates in just an approximation, and there's some range of error anyway. Tuesday is close enough to your dip that it's possible you ovulated then as well. If you did, then you'd just get your period a day later than FF estimates, so if you're a day late, then you know there might be a reason why other than pregnancy (though, of course, we hope for the latter!). Best of luck! Don't get too anxious in the 2ww!

so my temperature is supposed to dip before ovulation?

Lin - March 30

It's not *supposed to", but it isn't uncommon. It's certainly not always that way, though, as you can see in my Jan. 31 chart. I can't recall exactly what causes the dip. I'll have to look that up.
