Lots Of EWCM Yesterday What Does It All Mean HELP

V era - July 12

yesterday(july 11) i noticed some ewcm and lots of it. DH and i bd on the 10th and again on the 11th(after my discovery). However I am only on cd12 now and was not due to ov until july 15th (i had af on july 1st thru the 5th). but since i have trouble noticing cm during anytime of my cycle, i was pretty excited when i noticed the ewcm yesterday, so i didn't want to miss the chance this cycle and immediately called DH to do some BDing. Even though i'm hoping that yesterday was a sign that the timing was right, i still feel a bit ignorant about ttc being that it has been months and nothing yet.. Basically im just wondering if i was right or too early or what? since i was supposed to ov on the 15th, was the ewcm a sign of early ov, or just a sign that ov will soon occur? Any opinions please/// Thanx

If you bd'ed on July 10th, it is possible that it was s____n you discovered, not ewcm. I have made that mistake before. Also it is possible to ovulate earlier or later than expected. Are you using any other means to detect ovulation other than cm (opk's, temperature)? If you are using an ovulation calculator online, it only gives you a general time that you should be ovulating, but all women are different so don't take it as definite. Hope this helps, good luck to you! ~baby dust~

usually i am dry(not painfully dry) but it is very hard for me to detect cm without sticking my finger in there, but yesterday it was alot, as far as it being s____n, it was very clear....and sticky stretchy. i doubt if it was s____n(might have been) i doubt it though(my dh s____n is not totally clear) any help on this?

Hi Vera ! As far as I know, if you just start to notice ewcm thit is a good sign that ov will occur in few days, Here is few words from an article about it: "As your cycle progresses, your cervical mucus increases in volume and changes texture. The changes in the mucus that is secreted from the cervix reflect where you are in your cycle. The consistency of your cervical mucus changes during the cycle due to hormonal fluctuations. You are considered most fertile when the mucus becomes clear, slippery, and stretchy. Many women compare mucus at this stage to raw egg whites. but it is depend on the structure of ewcm. Before Ovulation (low chance of pregnancy): The first few days following menstruation, there will be little or no discharge present. You will feel dryness around your vulva. During this time, chances of getting pregnant are low. Approaching Ovulation (chance of pregnancy): The first discharge that does appear should be moist or sticky and should be white or cream in color. In the finger test, the mucus should break easily. You will only be able to pull your fingers about 1 cm apart before it breaks. During this transition time, first the mucus will become cloudy and slightly stretchy during the finger test (this means that it will still break before the fingers are stretched all the way). As time progresses, the mucus will become greater in volume. Right around ovulation (high chance of pregnancy): At this stage, mucus resembles egg whites. It is the thinnest, clearest and most abundant at this point in the cycle. Finger testing will allow the mucus to stretch quite a ways (several centimeters) before it breaks (if it breaks at all). ) The amount of this thin mucus will steadily increase until you experience your 'mucus peak'. This is the last day of this period where the chance of conception is high. It is closely tied to ovulation. During this phase, the sperm's survival rate is higher. It can survive in cervical mucus for up to 72 hours, a significantly longer time than during the rest of the cycle. After Ovulation (low chance of pregnancy): After ovulation, there is a marked change in mucus appearance. It returns to the sticky stage (does not stretch during finger test) and there is again a feeling of dryness around the vulva. One caution for this test is that sperm can be confused with the mucus secretions and you could make wrong a__sumptions. Also, v____al infections, medication, and birth control can alter conditions and should be taken into consideration when examining any v____al secretions." Well, I hope this help.

After my DH and I bd, the next day I have the same discharge you are describing. If I were you I would bd every day (or every other day if it is too much) until next Sunday, just to be sure. That way if you are ovulating around now, or ovulating a little later, you would bd at the right time.

http://www.ovusoft.com and http://www.fertilityfriend.com both have examples of charting, some of which show many signs apart from temperature (libido, mucus etc.) Good luck!
