Missed Or Delayed Period Would Love Some Feedback

I need to speak to some ladies about a delayed or missed period. I may be pregnant because Im 11 days late for AF, and Im going to the doc tomorrow for a test. But what conerns me is that I have absolutley no pregnancy symptoms or signs that would reassure me about a possible pregnancy. Ive never missed a period completely before. Im 24, not on the pill, dont take any meds, havent lost or gained weight and havent been under any kind of stress at all. Ive actually just came back from a three week vacation about a month ago. So, Im wondering what could be wrong with me. I would love to have some ladies to talk to that have experienced the same thing and can tell me what to expect. Will my period return on the usual date or will I be thrown into some kind of limbo for a couple of months. Like I said Ive never missed a period before and would love some feedback if possible. Thanks!

Have you had unprotected s_x? If so, then of course you can be pregnant. Have you taken a pregnancy test? If you've had a negative one, then it could be an ovarian cyst. Only your doctor will be able to tell you that. Some women don't get obvious pregnancy symptoms.

Yes, I had unprotected s_x numerous times during my fertile period. I went to the doc about a week ago for a test and it came back negative but he wanted me to come back for a retest this week b/c he said he might have been too early to test. And he also wanted to test with my first morning pee. If it is an ovarian cyst how will they find out? by blood work or a physical exam? and what ensues with having a cyst?

Hi there. Just an FYI for you. I've had 4 pregnancies. 3 dd and 1 m/c. The only one I had any early symptoms with was the one I lost. Weird, I know, but true. I didn't have any symptoms with the other three until well into the first trimester, and then the only thing I had was tender bbs. I got m/s with the first one until I figured out that it was my prenatals that was causing it. The Dr. gave me a different kind and I was right back to normal. Not every woman has the same symptoms and some, like me, have none at all... Hope this helps in some way. And, I hope whatever you want to happen, happens. :)

Thanks so much for the info. I appreciate it. It is rea__suring to hear that I could be pregnant without any symptoms. How long into your pregnancies did it take to get a positive? If I get a negative on another HPT should I ask a doc for a blood test? or should I just wait another two weeks and see if I get my period?

No, you can't determine if it's a cyst from bloodwork. I imagine that if your blood pregnancy test is negative, your doctor would likely do a physical exam. He should be able to tell if one of your ovaries is enlarged from a physical exam, and if so he'll probably send you for a v____al ultrasound (think "d____o cam") to confirm it. Most cysts resolve themselves, but on occasion they can grow large enough to warrant removal. I had a cyst that grew to 6cm in size, and the doctor removed it via laparoscopy.

well Im leaving for the doc in a hour for my test. Still no af and Im now 12 days late. Wish me luck. If the result is - should I ask for a blood test or should I just wait to see if af comes at the end of this month? and if it doesnt come what should I do? what do you ladies think?

If he'll do a blood test and your insurance will pay for it, then yes, get him to do it. Ask if he'll do a quant_tative test (as opposed to qualitative). That should be more accurate. If the test is negative and you have no signs of a cyst, then all you can do is test once a week until either AF arrives or you get a positive. Good luck!

Well Im back and the result was negative. She told me to test again in another week, and if the result is negative again I can get a blood test done.
