Alright....every month around this time I think of a new question...so here it is =)....A friend told me last night that if you want a baby girl to try and conceive after the egg has been released....and if you want a little boy to try and conceive before ovulation. I find this hard to believe, but I havent researched it on my own. Has anyone done any research about this and found any truth?

LN i have heard the same thing. They say it is because the "male" sperm are the strongest so they live longer while the "female" die off before ovulation. I have no idea if it is the truth or not, just something I have heard in pa__sing

I have heard you are more likely to have a girl if you bd and then you O a few days later. And your more likely to conceive a boy if you bd and O within the 24 to 36 hours. The reason for this is that the sperm that make a female are stronger and last longer so they typically are waiting around for O. Where as the sperm that make a boy are fast but dont last as long so if you O soon after bd they will get to the egg first. Sorry this isnt very technical. And I know I have read that you are not likely to conceive after you O, you want sperm in there waiting for when the egg drops. Good Luck.

Dee is completely right.... girls are stronger and live longer... so if you want a girl, stop a couple days before ovulation.... if you want a boy... time intercourse as close to ovulation as possible. Just google "Shettle's Method" for more information of it.
