Kira_Lynn...I found this for you ...Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and deliver a perfectly healthy baby. The results on an ultrasound after 5 - 6 weeks gestation are much more accurate than using hCG numbers.

did you have a blood test after the m/c?

kira_lynn, i've got my fingers crossed for you. i know how it feels to be told that your levels are low and then have to worry about the health of your baby. i too had a m/c, in october. but try not to worry about it too much. until a m/c actually happens, which i am praying it won't, your are having a baby. my best friend had low hormones the entire time she was pregnant. she never even showed up on an hpt. her doctors found out through a blood test and because her hormones were so low all the time they kept telling her that she shouldn't be surprised if she had a m/c. even when she was 8 months pregnant she took an hpt just for fun and is still came up neg. but she has today a beautiful, healthy little genius child. that kid is so smart it is unbelivable. and she is 4 years old.

A urine test is very different than blood tish. In some women their body filters the HCG and that is why a urine test can be negative. I got pregnant in sept., but had a m/c in nov. and then had a d and c. In january AF had still not come so I took an HPT amd it was +. but it turned out all the pregnacny hormone was never removed and I was not pregnant again. Just left over HCG. Which is why I asked if she has a blood test after the m/c.

the same thing happend when i had my m/c. my doctor told me to keep taking hpt's every week until they came up neg. and if the were pos for more than 3 weeks to come back in. and i do know that urine tests are very different than blood tests, but all the way through her pregnancy, every time her doctors would take her blood they said that her level were very low. but she still went full term with her baby. with no complications.
