h__lo, my hsb and i have been ttc for 10 months now and no luck, been to the dr. and my tubes are clear and his "guys" are good. we don't take any fertility drugs but i do use the pee sticks to determine ovulation. i have been dead on every month. my cycle is 28 days to the mark. i know when i will start af and when i will ovulate. should have ovulated friday or saturday but the tests show that i am not. here it is sunday night and no sign of ovulation. have been having s_x all week to make sure a fresh shipment of sperm is waiting for the egg, TMI. anyway's is it possible that i am not ovulating this month? is something wrong or will ovulation come later than usual? am confused, please give me some advise

That's always a possibility. Have you been temping? If you have and you've confimed that you've actually ovulated each month (opks can't tell you that), then there's no reason to a__sume you won't this month.

no i have not been temping. i need to start doing that. don't know how though. i mean i know i should take my temp every morning and chart it but do i just use a regular thermometer under the tongue?

You can use a regular thermometer, so long as it goes to the 1/10 of a degree F or 1/100 of a degree C. Just take your temp every morning before doing anything - before getting up, before peeing, before eating or drinking, etc. Try to do it at the same time every day, though the pattern will still be obvious even if you're off by an hour or two. I personally like Fertility Friend for charting. You can put all your information into the chart, and it will calculate your ovualation day for you once you've got three elevated temps. I think it's worth it for the 3-month subscription, but you don't have to do that. You can just sign up for the free one. Good luck!

thanks for the info lin. i actually do have one of those therm. and i started using it today. but i had to walk around a little bit first to find it and a pen and calender. so hopefully that didn't affect it by too much. but i will chart it everyday and see if that helps me out

Keep that pen and calendar near the bed now that you've found it! Walking around a bit WILL increase your temperature pretty quickly.

hey Lin, you seem to really know alot about temping. i just started temping this month and i have really irregular cycles. my temps are generally 97.5, but on cd14 they dropped to 97.1 and then the next day they were 97.8 then they went back to normal, now they are kind of all over the map. I'm on cd 31. but my last cycle was 50 days. What do you think?

If they went back down and stayed there, then you haven't ovulated yet. It will be obvious once you've ovulated, because your temps will definitely stay up. Have you spoken to your doctor yet about your irregular periods? Are you charting on Fertility Friend? If so, then post your chart, so we can take a look at it.
