I feel kinda dumb asking this becasue i should know, but do you ovulate even when you don't have a period for the month ?I had a missed period but felt like i was ovulating. so im just wondering. thanks

Hmmm...well, your periods work in cycles and don't necessarily need to happen every calendar month. For example my periods are irregular and only come every 45 days, which means I wouldn't have them every month.Typically, you ovulate 14 days before your next period...I'm not sure if that is what you were asking.

Since ovulation and menstruation are directly linked the answer is Yes, you need to ovulate in order to get your period. However, some women still bleed and dont ovulate but thats not a period that breakthrough bleeding. You need to chart, check your CM and cervix to know if you are indeed ovulating. Once in a while it is considered normal to have an anovulatory cycle.
