Ovulation Predictor Kits Charting Basal Temp S

I went to the doctor today to find out why I haven't conceived and haven't had a period since Jan. The doctor wants me to chart my basal temp. for 2 months to make sure I am ovulating. I have several questions. One: I bought a basal thermometer - which is the best way to do it - orally or va___ally? Two: It says to start the first day of my period - I haven't had one since Jan. Do I wait until I get it or just start charting? Thanks!

I would just start charting and see if there's any pattern throughout the month. I take my temperature orally, I don't know if it makes a different either way. Maybe v____ally is supposed to be more accurate. Good luck!

I think v____ally makes your temp higher, but it doesn't matter as long as you do it consistantly. I do it orally. I started it in the middle of a cycle just to make sure. I don't think it matters. if you happen to start a period, start a new chart. A great site is www.fertilityfriend.com it should help with questions- also book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Wexler. That's how I know anthing about temping. fertilityfriend also has a place to record your temps and they draw your cover line etc. 1st month is free- I liked it so much I joined!
