Hi I am 29yrs old, mother of two, 4yrs and 2yrs. I have only been late two times in life, and was when I was pregnant. Both times took hpt test early and clear positive results. My cycle is regularly 21-26days, and about 3 times in life has gone as far as 28 days, but no farther. I am now going on 30 days, no period, last couple of days been experiencing mild cramping like menstrual cramps yet no period, I have also been very tired lately, but I have taken 3 hpts. Two first response early, first one was faint pos, but disappeared after the time frame, so took second one, was negative. This morning took a clearblue easy and it came back negative. Any advice on why my cycle would change so much or if I am pregnant why the hpt came back negative? Thank you.

Hi Sandra, there are a few reasons why your period could be late: stress, sudden weight gain/loss, poor diet etc however if your period is usually on time every month, it's more than likely you're pregnant. Sometimes the hormone levels aren't high enough for the hpt's to detect, even though they were both times before, every pregnancy is different. If you still haven't gotten your period, maybe you should think about taking a trip to the doctors for a blood test, I'm led to believe that these can detect slightly earlier than a hpt. Good luck! Thank you for your help, my period came today, although it is different then usual, cramping is different, and it is lighter than usual. I am not really stressed, and there has been no change lately in me physically, I guess I have to chalk it up to one of those strange, unexplained things. Thanks again for the answer though, I really appreciate the feedback.
