PG Test

Either I am definately pregnant or something else is going on. Maybe early menopause (ack, I hope not). Since July I have experienced nearly every symptom under the stars. Since August my bbs have been aching something aweful. Now they've definately grown as my bras are tighter, and my nips feel like someones been pinching them. I know it's possible to have AF during the first few months (and sometimes even longer). I also know it's possible to be pregnant and have HPT show negative. But BOTH??? Does anyone know if the ER will do blood test based on my symptoms or would I have to have some sort of proof varifying that I need one done?? AF is due on the 21st. I have one HPT left and was trying to wait and see what happens with AF. But it's hard. Cause today I noticed my tummy seems to have a bulge just below my belly button. This is someones idea of a joke to show me how it's possible for a woman to be pregnant and not know it, right?

Is this dalesgirl as inYorkshire? Those b___bs seem to be your major symptom, but the bulge below the belly b___ton sounds encouraging. I expect you've read posts about folks getting their progesterone factory out of whack. I don't understand that one. Surely there must be somewhere cheaper than the ER to do a blood test, or does National Health pay for that?

Thank you for responding. No, not Yorkshire, I live in Texas. Anyway, I was talking to my BF last night and he says his ex-wife had 3 periods and 4 negative HPTs when she was pregnant with their first child. So I guess it is possible. I am trying for a baby so it wouldn't be a bad thing. I might just wait till the 21st and see what happens with AF. It is less than a week away. If it's any more abnormal than August was and HPT still says negative, I'll have to go find out what's going on. I have heard of women going through menopause around 30. I am so hoping that's not what it is.

I've been reading up on the hCG levels that hpt checks. If you are good and pregnant they like double every day, going from 50 up to 2000. I'm beginning to think that these multiple negatives should usually be taken as an indication that something else is going on, even if it's a pregnancy that is not off to a good start. Then you listen to your BFs story and wonder about that for a theory. I wonder how many negative hpts are simply because folks are not reading the instructions right. Good luck, anyway.

Viv, I agree with you. There are sooo many people on this site that want so bad to be pg, me being one of them. But I was wondering this morning what the percentage is of people that are on here that actually end up getting a positive. Unfortunately, I'm afraid it may be fairly low. But we all think "it could be me". Crazy-making...

The first test I thought might have been too soon. After the second test said negative, I was satisfied that I wasn't pregnant until my period in August just wasn't quite normal and my bbs had started to hurt. My mother became convinced that I was pregnant then when I mentioned something about the period (never mentioned anything else). So I waited a week and took another test. Again negative. Okay, I've had two periods and three negative tests, no possible way I can be pregnant. But then why are my bbs so sore and growing?? Yes, growing, my bras are actually tighter. They've NEVER hurt before. Even when I had my lumpectomy earlier this year the only pain I had was at the incision. I have a friend who's mother had normal periods for 5 months. She didn't know she was pregnant till she pa__sed out at work one day and was taken to the hospital. I have another friend who took a HPT just for the hell of it at 6 months and it showed negative. I've also read on this site a woman who took 4 HPT and a blood test that all showed negative and she was pregnant. Now my BF tells me his ex had 3 periods and 4 negative tests when she was pregnant with their first child. So I know it's not impossible. I do not understand how you can read them wrong. You pee on a stick and look to see if there are one/two lines, plus/negative sign, or "pregnant"/"not pregnant". What is so difficult about that that there are so many who can't comprehend?? I'm not saying I am definately pregnant. I have actually been denying that that's what it is due to the fact I've had my periods and 3 negative HPT's. I had actually just posted on here to find out if I could get a blood test based solely on my symptoms. I know the first thing the clinic will do is a urine test.

Dalesgirl, I can TOTALLY understand how you're feeling. I'm in exactly the same boat, all kinds of symptoms, lmp on 7/24 and seemingly $1000s of dollars in hpts (all negative, I couldn't BUY a positive one) and 2 negative blood tests. I go back and forth thinking........am I, aren't I, is it in my head? To answer your question, yes, if you go to the Dr. they will let you get a blood test if that's what you request, at least that's been my experience, especially if you've had negative hpts, tell them you want a quant_tative one (that gives you a hcg number, not just a yes or no) Good luck Dalesgirl!!!
