Possible Pregnancy

I'm on the Ortho Evra birth control patch, and I keep up on it fairly regularly (occasionally put it on a day late), but I still make my boyfriend wear a condom when we have s_x. Three to four weeks ago, we had s_x the day before my period, and the condom broke. I didn't think anything of this at the time. About a week ago I woke up in the middle of the night, needing to vomit. I puked until I felt better, went back to bed, and haven't had the problem since then. Today, out of nowhere, I've gotten real sick. Very exhausted, nauseated, throat hurts, dizziness when I stand, and extremely sore all over. I had a bit of a sore throat a few days ago but that was all. It just all happened today and will most likely be gone tomorrow. My major concern is pregnancy, though I know it's very unlikely, I'd like some reassurance that I most likely should not be expecting. I'm 19 and very incapable of caring for a child. My period should start within the next 3-4 days so I'll be looking out for that, but I'd just like to know... what are the chances that this could be what I really hope it isn't? Are pregnancy symptoms like this even expected this early? And wouldn't it be more of an ongoing thing, rather than for one night? Thanks a lot. Sorry for the long post, but I know I wouldn't be willing to get an abortion, and my family isn't open to adoption, so the chance of this being a baby is really stressing me out (possibly why I'm sick? =P). Thanks again for any responses.

Based on the fact that you are on BC and using other protection then I think it is a very slim chance you could be pregnant though there still is a tiny chance. To me, it sounds like you have the flu. Also when you are sick it can mess with your cycle. Hope this helps a lil bit. Good Luck.

Thank you very much for the response. I don't mean to be so quick to a__sume, or so stressed about it, but I'm just not ready for this and it scares me.

no its not a bad thing to a__sume as most women do. Just so you know you can also get the morning after pill without a prescription from your local pharmacy but it has to be taken I think with in 24- 36 hours of unprotected s_x. Just in case. I know how you feel. I went though something like that before DH and got married and it can be a scary thing if you are not ready for it. A child will change your life.

Yeah, can't help but worry. It was a cold night all last night, though. And I spent a lot more time than usual out in the sun today (South Florida Summer), so I'm sure that didn't help. Just gonna get some sleep and look very forward to my next period. =P
