Pregnancy Possible

Hello everyone, I am a newbie to this site. First let me say I have found more actual info on this site than any other and I've been looking for a long time. So thank you all in advanc for your answers to my long drawn out post LOL! Is it possible to be pregnant right now - the rundown = I had cervical high grade dysplasia that was turning into cervical cancer two years ago and had a cone biopsy done to remove the pre-cancerous cells and found out I also have HPV. MY doctor I was seeing at the time never checked me for a hormonal imbalance (some paps would come back normal and others abnormal - due to hormonal changes? I'll never know, but now if I get preggo I will have an incompetent cervix because of the surgery so to all those debating on the surgery have them test your hormones first! Mine never did, anyway 2 years later and back where we lived before I found a wonderful doctor that actually LISTENS to my concerns and questions and she is the one who suggested that my irregular periods could be due to a hormonal imbalance and she was right! She put me on metformin to help straighten out my cycle and it did! (i've been to several doctors about my condition and no one else ever tested me for this) I have been on metformin for over 6 months now and have checked my cervical position all this time and have found it to do it's thing in a regular cycle, but this time I found that right after I had my last "period" which was not a regular one for me - had pink/red spotting first day, next day had red/brown discharge and little bleeding, 3rd day had enough to fill two pads thoroughly and the 4th day had light spotting again (started the 22nd) and since then my cervix has been high and soft and yesterday it became thick as well I don't ovulate according to my dr. until the 11th through the 14th and am due for it today, but no clear stretchy mucous - it is creamy and white and I've had cramping - light in my abdomen all over and now my back since two days ago along with enlarged itchy and tender br___ts (comes and goes and a veinieness that comes and goes - dark one day barely there the next) Have had a really bad head cold and nausea. I am so scared to test right now afraid I might jinx it or that it is too early. Has anyone else gone through this and ended up being pregnant. As I said before, I'm not having the usual symptoms of ovulation and my period isn't due until the 22nd of this month, but have the cramps and other symptoms of pg. Please help, any advice would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post :)

You have pretty good signs including runny nose and lotion discharge. If you are pg. you should be able to test already. Are you taking prenatal vitamins? Good luck!

Connie~I just wanted to ask you a few questions.I 2 years ago also was told from my pap i had cervical high grade dysplasia that was turning into cervical cancer and i got the LEEP procdure done ,I'm not sure if thats the same as you had done? So i have HPV too, i have been going to regular paps since i got the surgery done and they have all came back normal. So i don't really understand do you have HPV or was it just your hormonal imbalance???Also what did your doctor say about you getting pregnant because of the surgery and all? I haven't really talked to mine about it. Well hope to hear from you soon. Brittney

Hello Grandpa Viv, thank you for the support and info. I am taking pre-natals again once I started feeling pregnant - couldn't afford them for a little while as I was un - employed but now told my hubby they were a necessity in case I am and he agreed. And to Brittney 26 - The leep procedure is just another method of ridding you of the cervical dysplasia/pre-cancer. My hormonal imbalance was not the cause of my hpv however but did help to lead to cervical dysplasia as my body reacted to the attack on my immune system and slowly started to show up in my paps. We have a long history in my family of female cancers so I also believe some part must have been hereditary as well. If my doctors had found out that I also had a hormonal imbalance long ago I would have had normal cycles before now and shed my endometrium at a normal rate making my workings :) less suceptible to cancers and such as some cancers are linked to hormonal imbalances. My husband and I tried for over 13 years now and never got the help we needed to really try to conceive until I met my current doctor who immediately saw the pattern in my irregular cycles along with a mix of other problems such as endometriosis, thyroid levels and now pcos. She doesn't seem to think that my surgery in the past will be an issue as far as getting pregnant - it just might take a little longer and might require bedrest and a cerclage to help keep it from failing(hoping I am right now given my symptoms! :)) Any way baby dust to you and talk to your doctor about any concerns you have, if he/she won't listen or answer your questions it's time to find one who will. I really hope this was helpful to you.

Took a pg test and it came back with a very light negative line - could I have tested too soon? I am supposed to be ovulating right now so I don't know if that effects the test or not? I am having alot of cm and now today clearer cm, but still having the cramping in my abdomen (not just one side and the lips of my vulva are definately turning a darker almost purplish color) Still have the pms bbs which I've had now for two weeks straight and the high soft cervix which is now becoming firmer to the touch but still way up and closed more than it has been. If I were ovulating wouldn't it be up and open? Thanks again for any answers. Baby dust to all. :)
