Hello i found out i was having an ectopic pregnancy on May 2nd, and i was just wondering if anyone on here has gotten pregnant after having one? i know your supposed to wait a couple of cycles before trying again and thats what were planning on doing, but i just wanted to know how long it took before you became pregnant again and was it a healthy full term pregnancy? Thanks:)

Hey princess_20 I am in the same boat as you. I had an ectopic in February which resulted in the rupture and loss of my left tube. And we are finally trying after our 3 month wait. There is a great forum for women with ectopics on www.groups.yahoo.com. These women share there stories about coping with the aftermath and getting pregnant in the furture which really makes me have hope. Were they able so save your tube? Because with me now with only one viable tube I am fertile every other month which kind of discourages me, but my OB/GYN says that it won't necessarily be any harder to achieve pregnancy. (with the ectopic we werren't trying I was on the pill) I will keep you in my prayers :)

Hey Stephannpruitt, im sorry to hear you lost one of your tubes...they were able to catch mine in the early stage (i was only 6 weeks) so they gave me 2 shots of methotrexate. thank you for the website, ill have to check it out. how far along were you when it ruptured? good luck with trying and lots of baby dust:)

I had an ectopic when I was 16. They caught it at 3 weeks. I am now 26 and have a healthy 18 month old and I am pregnant with my second and things are going great. I was worried about having another ectopic but I didn't. I really hope that everything works out for both of you.

I was 8 weeks and two days. My OB/GYN at the time wasn't even concerned about ectopic even though i was having all of the tell tale symptoms. She told me it was fine to work , and that I was probably just having a miscarriage(I'm a nurse) so that night I went to work (thought it would get my mind off of the whole situation) and helped lift a patient, and it ruptured right there it almost sent me to the floor right there in the patients room. THank God I was at the hospital working because my new OB/GYN (the one who performed the surgery) says i wouldn't have made the 20 minute triip to the hospital. So I thank God every day that I am still here, but just hoping for at least one baby. I'm currently one day late and will test tommorrow morning, I just don't want a BFN!!

after the ectopic did your cycle get all screwed up? because i have been bleeding since friday and i dont know if i should count this as my period or wait until the 18th (when i would have got my period) JenE im glad you were able to have a healthy pregnany and birth and another one on the way!! and stephannpruitt im sorry it happened like that but i believe everything happens for a reason and maybe the doc. said it was fine to be at work so you would already be at the hospital when it happened because from what you said the outcome would have been alot worse if you wernt (not saying the doctor had it planned out like that or anything of course) Good Luck when you test and let me know how it goes so maybe in 3 months ill have some hope:)
