Question About Abortions

Hey you all!! I know you all are thinking that this is going to be some debate forum about abortion but it's not. My friend's husband is cheating on her and he's supposedly gotten a woman pregnant who is going to have an abortion tomorrow. My friend wants to know what the procedure is for an abortion and what kind of anesthesia they put you under? This woman who is having the abortion tomorrow was asking my friend's husband if she wanted to go to I-Hop afterwards and get a funnel cake to celebrate (yeah i know, weird, right?) and I told my friend that I thought they put you on some type of drugs to do this procedure and that it was basically the same thing as a D&C. Will any of you who know more about the subject, please enlighten me with any details you can? Thanks!

Thanks for your answer Lin!! I just really don't know what to tell her b/c my friend is so freaking lost over all of this. I'm trying to help her through the process but there really are no comforting words!

It depends on how far she is... but if it's still the first i think they just have a pill... past that i dont know the only reason i know anything about it is because i got pregnant when i was 17 and couldnt afford a pregnancy test so i went into the health clinic and when the nurse came in to tell me i was pregnant she also told me my options (i kept my baby obviously)

sorry i meant to say the first few weeks like up to 7 weeks

Oh yeah, I meant to say that, too. It definitely depends on how far along she is. The farther along, the more detailed a procedure it is. What I said above was referring to the standard 8 weeks along.

In canada They dont put you under anything they give you 2 ibprophyns then give you 4 anti biotics and 3 of these other pills that sofen the cervix and start contractions. then they wait for everyithing to kick in, get you in the room and start. its about a 5 minute procedure that consists of them giving you needles down there then vacc_ming and sc___ping. then after they give you another 4 antibiotics. but it might be different in the usa (I am a__suming that is where you are from) but that is depending how far along she is becuase up to 2 months i think thats how they do it here.

Well, I know for sure she won't be getting a funnel cake afterwards. I remember when I was 17 my friend had an abortion, and I went with her. She was 9 weeks along. She went under local, but was still in a fair amount of pain, and had heavy-period like discharge that they said was normal. I know even with the pill (from reading) that it's somewhat painful because of the fact it induces a state of labor...I think you can probably look it up on google (if you can stomach it) the procedures that are done and at what times.

In Canada they give you inject you with this drug that makes you fly high like a kite, then freeze your cervix and they then scarpe and suck it out. I think your friend should leave him and the celebration cake thing is disguting!

Hi, that procedure is VERY painfull guys belive me i have been there once. It was a early as three weeks and the pain was more like giving birth. what they did was they put something like a vey long syringe into your womb through you v____a and they absorb whatever is there so you can imagine the whatever that is formed there loosening up to go through that pipe. My God i dont want to think of that pain its very very painfull and they do that for an hour cause everything has to come out and they use nothing to drug you. But i heard there are a lot of procedures depending on how long you are pregnant. I wish i was in Canada Meghan's seemed painless. Or was i punished?

What Megan said is exactly what they do in IL, too..afterwards you get sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sick...between the cramps and the throwing up..it sucks pretty bad..but after about two hrs its fine. And btw, if I found out that my husband had cheated on me and then she asked him to go to IHOP with her afterwards, id be throwing a FIT!!!!!! I wouldnt let him out of my site until I divorce his b___t...I know its hard and things can be fixed somtimes, but like Lin said...that relationship is oging to have more problems..shes always going to be wondering what hes doing and where hes at..ya know?: I wish them the best!

I had an abortion and it was not painful whatsoever. However, after a few days i had severe cramps and bvleeding like crazy...that was painful...Uterus was contracting and it was not fun. The actual procedure was a breeze!

oh my gosh, Hotty..where were you when u had that done? was it a clinic or what? that doesnt even sound safe..I cant beleive they didnt drug you! I know they dont want u to feel anything down there bc if u can, you will squirm in pain and that can cause them to slip and hit something they arent supposed to !

LN030905, i was in a private doctor and i felt i could advice anyone who wanted to do it not to.Anyway i have learned a lesson i am strictly using Condoms

oh I see..I have a friend who went to to have D&C and her dr wanted to try it in his office without and drugs...she said it was the most horrible pain she has ever had..he couldnt even finish bc she was thrashing around so badly and screaming...that sends chills up my spine. They had to go back in with the drugs to do it later on.

Emma2 - June 29

omg! That sounds horrific! Why would anyone agree without drugs......I got the chills now!

WTF? Celebrate by eating funnel cake? I know when I plan my abortions, I always crave funnel cake...(actually, what do you expect from a woman who screws around with a married man...her priorities are a__s backwards.)
