Question About First Day Of Period

First off, I feel like a moron for asking this question, but allow me to explain. Hubby and I are ttc for #2. This is my first month off the pill and my last AF was Jan 1. Ovulated the 15th and had s_x a few times prior to and a few times after. Anyway, I'm due for AF tomorrow, but today got a little spotting, a bit pinkish. Normally, the first day of AF is heavy so is the second. I have had several preg. symptoms, but was sort of chalking it up to body changes. Anyway, just wondering what other woman's cycles are like, especially their AF. Sorry for the weird, perhaps unclear question. Thanks to all and best of luck!

Hey Kelley, the first day of your period is the first day you see full red flow. spotting brown and/or pink do not count. Just out of curiosity how do you know you ovulated on CD15? Do you temp? Temping is the only 100% sure fire way to know you ovulated. Cramps, OPKs and CM are all great indicators but can happen far before ovulation(up to one week) and even sometimes after. OPKs especially which are advertised to predict O 32-72 hours before hand really only measure LH surges and you may get positives without actually producing enough LH to cause ovulation. This is why many women get more than 1 positive OPK. Because you literally just came off the pill your body is GOING to give you every pregnancy symptom in the book as it tries to regulate itself. Your body will cramp, swell, you may get nauseous and AF may even stop and start and stay away and then come on hard and heavy for long periods of time. This could happen for the first 3-6 months depending on how well and how fast your body regulates. As for now I would chalk it all up to getting off the pill, but if your period stays away take a test. If BFN and still no period, try again in a week. If still no period and still BFN than I would suggest seeing your Dr. about jump starting your period or at least finding out what s/he suggests. Hope this helps and if I didn't answer your question, feel free to let me know. :) GL!!! ***BABYDUST***

Krissy, thank you so much for all the great info. Well, today the real AF is here. It seems like you said, I've had every symptom possible, but it's clearly due to coming off the pill. My AF was actually due today, but the light pink yesterday through me off. Another dumb question, what do I need to do to temp? Is there a speical thermometer, how do I track it and know when would be the my O time? Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with me, I really appreciate it! :)
