Sperm And Menstration

does menstration clense your system? If a woman has a period, what are the chances that sperm could survive a few days and impregenate her if she ovulates early. I had s_x with her 2-3 days BEFORE the period arrived.

If you accept that sperm only lasts 5 days in the female (hiding out in the fallopian tube, which is above and beyond the shedding at menstruation), then she would have to ovulate on Day2 or Day3, not Day14, in order to become pregnant. If you know of anyone to whom this has actually happened, I and the Guiness Book of Records would like to hear about it. We have had a post in this forum from a woman who claimed to have got pregnant from s_x on Day1

Thanks, helpful answer Viv, so menses really has no impact on the Fallopian tubes ?

Not that I know of. Menstruation is the shedding of the lining of the uterus, which is downstream of the fallopian tubes. Penetration of the egg by the sperm is thought to take place in the fallopian tubes and not in the uterus. Again, if you know of this happening, make sure the rest of the world knows too!

What about early ovulation during your period ? Sounds possible.....
