Starting Clomid Soon Had A Few Questions

Hello ladies, I am going tomorrow morning to get some tests done so that I can start clomid hopefully as soon as my next cycle starts, which hopefully will be soon. I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what they test for before putting you on clomid? My doctor briefly said, but it was over the phone, and I'm not sure exactly what it is. Was also wondering if anyone else is going on clomid soon? Could use some buddies! Thanks ladies! baby dust to everyone!

My doc checked LH, FSH, Progesterone and a TON of other things...I had blood taken at the beginning of my cycle and then again towards the end. My doc made DH go in for a s____n a___lysis before he would prescribe Clomid. It was frustrating waiting for all of the test results but it is good to know that doctors are not over-prescribing such a powerful drug. Good Luck...hopefully your tests will come back normal and you won't need clomid. The side effects can get nasty!

Unfortunally I already know I'm going to need it. My cycles are VERY irreguler, the last one being 88 days long. I haven't had a period start on it's on in almost a year. I always have to take proverra to induce it. Did the clomid work for you?

Oh that is too bad. My cycles were very irregular as well. Usually 40-60 days. I am on my first round of clomid now. cd5-9 50mg. Right now I am on cd11 and I am just waiting to see if I will O. I have already started using OPKs and I have been temping for a few months now. I have been pretty emotional since cd7 and I have been having HORRIBLE hot flashes during the nights but if I am able to conceive it will all be worth it! How long have you been ttc? I've been trying for about 9-10 months and I'm really hoping that we "get lucky" this cycle, but for some reason I am doubtful that it will work on round one...it just seems "too easy". Let me know what happens at your appointment tomorrow! Good luck! p.s. if you are charting, bring your charts to your doc...it might help your doc move the process along a little quicker.

We have been trying as far as charting, tempting and all of that since Dec, so about 6 months. However, we have not been preventing it at all for 3 years now, and still not pregnant. Just to give you a little hope, a friend of mine was diagnosed with PCOS in Sept, they put her on metformin, she started clomid in January, and a few weeks later found out she got pregnant on the first round. so it is possible...that gives me hope anyway. Good luck :-)
