Is it possible to have tender nipples before AF, if you havent ovulated?

I believe the tender nipples are caused by progesterone. I am no expert, but I don't think you would be producing progesterone if you did not ovulate, because progesterone is produced by the corpus luteum (which is the follicle after the egg has been released). Each month my b___bs would get sore before AF, but this month only my nipples were tender and I got a BFP. I would say it is a promising sign!

high estrogen can cause very sore nipples and b___sts. When I am on estrogen pills mine are killing and after I stop taking them the pain stops. I asked the clinic and they said yup its from high estrogen levels.
